Fate had to be on his side though because seemingly out of nowhere, a lone carriage came riding up. It was a cart carriage driven by a single horse which walked at a leisurely pace.
Reqiel slowed to a stop with a beaming smile on his face, "Are you by chance heading out of the capital?" He called out to the driver who turned out to be a sour faced middle aged man.
The driver slowed to a stop, eyeing up the young man that had waved him down. "Perhaps," He muttered, a blade of grass between his teeth. "Not attending the celebrations at the square, are you?" He asked, suspicious.
Reqiel tried to straighten his robes and give a smile that would portray him in a more honorable light. "Unfortunately, my partner and I have an important task we couldn't avoid, could you give us a ride?"
"Come closer, let me get a good look at ya." The farmer drawled, "Been robbed far too many times on this road."
