Nerae reluctantly opened up his bakery the next day, wishing he hadn't because as usual Prince Cirion was right at the door waiting for him. He quickly picked up on his odd mood, it reminded Nerae of how the second prince left the day before. He had hoped that Prince Cirion wouldn't return because of that but he should really have known better.
The silence between them stretched out as Nerae got busy getting ready for the day, Cirion wisely staying out of his path. Even the day before, Nerae had done all the tasks that required delicacy, leaving the crude jobs to the second prince, like hoisting wood and stoking the fire, like kneading dough and lifting heavy things.
