The day was over far too quickly, the treacherous sun racing to the other side of the sky like it had a mission to fulfill. As the sky turned into shades of reds and oranges, Shandri hurriedly took a silver bracelet off her wrist and placed it around Reqiel's wrist like she had almost forgotten to.
Erlan had gone off right about noon but returned soon after, resuming his seat at the fireplace. The entire time he watched Shandri, taking in every motion she made like it was the last time he would see her.
He came over to do his check-up and then turned to Shandri who hugged Reqiel to her chest tightly, "It's time to leave."
"A minute more, Erlan," She implored, her eyes tightly shut.
Erlan gave her more than that, he waited till the sun set and the sky darkened, until Sarell lit the candles in the room, and until Shandri reluctantly let Reqiel go.
