Nicholas arrived at Luci's house; he was shown into the study to wait for her. After about thirty minutes, she entered the room.
"Sorry about making you wait, Nicholas; I had business to attend to,"
She was wearing a long black skirt with a matching crop top that showed off her tummy. The devil was quite fashionable and stylish, Nicholas thought to himself as he watched her sit down on the chair.
"It is ok,"
He wondered about what sort of business the devil would need to attend to. He had assumed she did not have to work given that she was Satan and could have whatever she wanted in the world.
"Shall we begin?"
Nicholas turned on the laptop.
"Yes, where did we leave off yesterday,"
"You were going to tell me about your romantic relationship with God; wow, even saying that feels weird,"
"Oh yes, I was Queen of heaven, mother to his only begotten son. I ruled heaven by his side, and for a while, things were good until his obsession with humanity consumed him."
"His obsession? Could you explain further?"
"Yahweh was obsessed with the concept of perfection and creating beings so righteous that they would be incapable of sin. You see, after the serpent, Adam and Eve fiasco, there were angels. As they were called, watchers, who came to earth against God's knowledge and mated with humans and ruled them as gods. They are known as the gods and heroes of old. Zeus, Krishna, Shango, Hercules, Athena, and Aphrodite were all fallen angels. He failed to understand that if there is free will, there will never be perfection. That there will always be bad to balance out the good in the universe. A world filled with just goodness is a fantasy and will never understand the beauty of growth and evolution. A world filled with simply good will always be stagnant and never grow because it is through experiencing bad that we learn what good is. It is through seeing the evil that we recognize what righteousness is,"
"So, God was and still is an idealist?"
"Yes, he is he became greatly disillusioned. The thing is, God refused to accept human nature for what it is. The beings he created were a direct reflection of all that he is, the total of both the good and bad in him. Yahweh could not bring himself to accept that although he is the most powerful being in existence, even he is not perfect. And that's ok, perfection is boring, and evolution demands imperfection. And it is for this same reason that most of humanity has outgrown him, they no longer need him because he is still the same, but your species have evolved."
"Isn't that blasphemy?" asked Nicholas.
"Blasphemy, what a word, the fact that speaking out or questioning God is seen as a crime should tell you a lot. No being should be above questioning or correction. The truth is the Angels and every being in heaven became scared of him, scared to tell him the truth or question him,"
"But God is the embodiment of perfection."
"And I am supposed to be the embodiment of evil, tell me Nicholas have I done anything evil to you? we are not monoliths. Perfection is a fallacy and fantasy Yahweh has refused to let go of."
"Wow, this is a lot. You know for so long we humans would appeal to God because he demanded our being without sin, only to find out now that he is as flawed as we are. This revelation about God is going to shake the very foundation of humanity and our spirituality."
"Nicholas, when Yahweh said to make humans in our image and likeness, he meant it in every way, so much so that the only difference between the humans and the Grigori is that we are powerful immortals and will never die unless killed by another more powerful Grigori. If you humans are imperfect and flawed, what model do you think humanity mirrors?"
"Wow, this is incredible, What is the Grigori?"
"It is what we are called,"
Nicholas nodded taking in everything she had told him as he continued to type.
"Do you have any questions for me, Nicholas?"
"What have you been doing this whole time? Since your fall? According to the scriptures, you have been trying to condemn the souls of humans to the eternal burning pit,"
"It is a myth; you are beings of free will. I cannot coax you into doing what you do not already desire. Humans have the propensity for good and evil, and I think it is time humans hold themselves accountable for their actions. Do you think I have the time to go whisper in some drunk's ear telling him to kill his whole family? Or do you think I was the one that told the kings of old to wage wars and slaughter other humans for power? That was not me; I do not care about the affairs of humans, but God does. He has been the one controlling the destiny of humanity; I never sent anyone to war for me or my agenda; he did,"
Nicholas put down the laptop and looked at Luci.
