Mike had a rather angry expression on his face. "Tony, I get why you are here, I get why Reed is bringing the rest of the fantastic 4, but why exactly are Peter and his Aunt here?"
"Well, he said he works for you, and he is a bright kid." Tony started to say.
"Exactly," Mike interrupted. "He is a high schooler who, while has a lot of potential, has no place on a battlefield."
Tony sighed "Mike he wants to help. Aunt is aware and even accompanied him here. I know you want to protect him, but sending him away will be a poor decision."
Peter piped up. "I'm out of school it has been canceled with the warworld coming, and I want to help. it's my world to protect, too."
Mike sighed, feeling a migraine. "How did he get past Logan? Isn't he supposed to be screening everything coming up the mass driver?"
Tony chuckled. "I have to give the kid and his aunt credit. They bribed him with a bottle of whiskey, a box of cigars, and used the logic that since he worked for Morganrote, then he was authorized. Logan laughed and let him on."
Mike had a vein on his forehead. "Chief of Security, my ass. I'm going to make him write a 50 page report on security breaches at the company and how to fix them. No help from the secretary." Mike said evilly, knowing how much Logan hated paperwork.
The comedy routine was interrupted by the arrival of a Martian bioship. Three people disembarked from the bioship. Cassandra Cain was the only one that Mike had been introduced to. A green skinned Martian introduced herself as M'gaan M'orzz but asked to be called Megan. The third person introduced herself as Abigail Brand , who was sent by Fury to help Mike.
Cassandra was in her Batgirl outfit and explained she was here to help on behalf of the Justice League to provide assistance since the official members were working on their end of the plan.
Brand said she had a group of about 40 people personally vetted by Fury ready to help with crewing the Archangel. They were a day out and should arrive tomorrow at about noon. Kai asked her if she had any experience commanding a ship. She stated she had, and Mike showed her to the Archangel asking if she could act as it's captian for now.
Brand agreed but said she had a message from Fury. He apparently told her to ask, "What the hell was he thinking having a potential weapon like that without informing me?" As well as "Mike owes me one for all of the bullshit I have to cover for him. I expect one hell of a deal on the next SHIELD order from Morganrote."
Mike sweated as he agreed. Apparently, he had been giving Fury quite a few headaches recently without realizing it. Mike considered the old spy a friend and felt a little bad for dumping work onto him.
After showing Brand to the Archangels captians' quarters, he went looking for Megan and Cassandra. He found them with Kitty trying out the mobile suit simulators. Mike watched as they maneuvered the suits in the simulation. They seemed to be having a fun time.
Mike then found Peter's Aunt May in the crew quarters that she had been assigned next to her nephew's quarters. Mike talked to her, and she said she supported Peter and was proud he decided to help. She asked if there was anything she could do, and Mike asked her if she could cook. She said she loved cooking, and Mike asked her to be in charge of the kitchen and mess hall.
Peter was pouting in his quarters half, expecting Mike to send him home. Mike entered and gave him a hard look.
"You should have talked to me first." Mike said. Peter began to respond, but Mike held up his hand. "I get it you want to help, but with everything going on I can't take too many surprises.
Peter said "I'm sorry I just wanted to help."
Mike sighed "No Chem lab privileges for a week and your new boss is Forge. Report to him tomorrow to learn about maintaining the Archangel and mobile suits."
It took a moment for Peter to realize what was said. "I can stay?"
Mike nodded. " I hired you because I saw something in you. Next time, tell me first, and I was serious you are banned from the chemistry labs for at least a week. Report to Forge tomorrow at 7 am he will show you around."
Mike left to check how the manufacturing was going on the cyclops systems. The originally 20 or so construction automations had been increased to 20,000 all of which were working on the cyclopses. The mobile dolls were being used to move all the mirrors into place under the direction of Tony. Reed had finally arrived and was overseeing the assembly of the Gungir Systems. Johnny was helping put with the CIWS, and Ben was practicing with Wolfsbane piloting the Archangel with Brand overseeing the exercise. Susan was acting as a communications officer.
The battle plan called for the Archangel to be front and center in the formation using the CIWS guns to protect against incoming missiles and using the larger weapons to deal out punishment to the warworld.
The Gaurdians had refused to commit any more Green lanterns to the fight and even tried to order the ones present back. Guy Gardner, Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Jessica Cruz had all refused stating they they would not run. To everyone's surprise Arisia Rrab, Kilowog, and Laira Omoto defied the Gaurdians orders to join their friends in the fight.
Mike was fortifying the defenders numbers with Mobile Dolls to help. They would be directed by the Archangel during combat and would act as the frontline troops.
