Mo Shu smiled as he playfully tousled Xia Xin's hair. Xia Xin winced uncomfortably, shaking her head a little.
Realizing he'd overstepped his bounds, Mo Shu quickly pulled his hand back and said, "Thank you for helping me so many times," he said sincerely.
Avoiding eye contact with the pool, Xia Xin waved her hand dismissively and said, "It's no big deal. Oh, and please don't tell anyone I'm afraid of water."
"Why are you so scared of water?" Mo Shu asked, looking at Xia Xin's damp hair.
Memories of a frightening childhood incident flashed through Xia Xin's mind. She frowned, not wanting to dwell on it, and said, "Maybe because I fell into the water when I was young? Once bitten, twice shy."
Mo Shu had a sudden realization. He asked, "Don't you know that there's a scene tomorrow where you have to go in the water? Why didn't you object when it was announced?"
