Mu Yangling found the map of Qiannan and flipped open the Southwestern Chronicles and Great Zhou's Records to carefully study the geographical and cultural environment of Luodian. What she saw made her frown.
Most of the people in Luodian were descendants of the Yue people and actually shared the same ancestors as the Miao people in ancient times. Later on, they migrated and split up. While the Miao people were now all over Lingnan, most of the Buyi people still lived in Luodian.
Just like the Miao Tribe, the Buyi Tribe was also hospitable but xenophobic. Government was based on clans, with the chiefs and priests holding the most power, while the tribal chieftains ruled over the various clans, although their authority was not very strong. Their relationship with the central government was neither close nor distant.
