"Hahahahaha…. She does not make the cut, you say, mum?" Charles asked as he realized then that he had played into his mother's ploy from the very beginning, looking at his father's reaction.
He did not mistake his father's reaction that he was on his side. Charles still had that conversation with his father about Thalia on his mind. He knew that Ky was like that only because he had been side-lined on this and not because he had changed his mind about Thalia marrying into the family.
Charles looked at both disappointedly and then walked out of the room. He could gain nothing more from them, and he felt spent!
"Joy?" Ky asked with a scowl.
"Spare me the talk, Ky! Did you mean that you would honour the engagement of that nobody? Based on what? The promise of your youngest son, who is still a child?"
Ky glared at his wife and then, upon deep thought, relented for the question, and the fact remained, would he really allow them to marry?
