Lucien's heart pounded in his chest as he and Blaise stepped foot on the property around Marie's house. The air was thick with tension. Blaise's eyes darted nervously to the door, his usual air of confidence replaced tension.
Marie stood near the entrance, her arms folded tightly across her chest. Her eyes blazed with anger as she glared at Blaise. "So, you finally decided to come home, did you?" she spat, her voice dripping with disdain.
Blaise's lips pressed into a thin line, refusing to give his mother the satisfaction of a response. He kept his gaze fixed on the ground, his emotions tightly guarded.
Lucien stepped forward. "Marie, please listen to me. Blaise was taken against his will. Raphael kidnapped him. We had to fight to bring him back."
Marie's icy gaze flickered toward Lucien, her brows furrowing in disbelief. "Kidnapped? Blaise ran off willingly with that monster! I always knew he was trouble."
