"This is the best day I've ever had, apart from the times we spent together in the past, of course," Shawn quickly added.
"No doubt, the children are also enjoying it," Kathleen said, taking in the enchanting look on Eleanor's face as she drew something on the canvas.
"Thank you Kathleen."
"Are you going to keep on thanking me?" Kathleen was somehow embarrassed.
"I don't know how else to express my gratitude," Shawn said helplessly. "Or do you have any other idea?
"No idea," she replied without thinking about it.
"Then I just have to keep thanking…."
"Argh…" Kathleen gritted her teeth.
The corners of Shawn's mouth spasmed up in a faint smile. "How about we talk about something else," Shawn suggested.
"I don't think we have anything common to talk about," Kathleen said, her defenses rising up again.
Shawn chuckled. "With the children in the equation, I think we do now, more than ever."
