"But you can't continue like this," began Kathleen.
"It's none of your business. All you have to do is concentrate on my grandmother's recovery and forget about what you saw today."
With that he rose to his feet but became dizzy the next instant. He didn't know whether it was the inner weakness he felt when facing the heartless Kathleen or it was the one from his last attack that stripped him of all his strength.
He did his best to force himself to stay awake. After steadying himself, he stood with his back straight, then took laborious steps to his apartment.
Her gaze followed the departing back of the man who was obviously in need of help but pretending to be fine.
She watched until he had completely disappeared from her sight, shook her head in pity and entered her car to leave.
'What's with the attitude? She snorted. "I'm even trying to help him, yet he doesn't appreciate it.'
