About an hour later, Kathleen had just finished her first appointment that morning and was preparing for the next one when Ariel, her assistant's call, entered.
"What's up?" Kathleen asked as soon as she picked the call.
"I've sent the details of the proposal for the acquisition of the Beazell Group to your mail."
"That was fast," Kathleen commended. "Have you spoken with all of them?"
"Not all, but most of the key players have almost been bought over. They are just waiting for things to get messier before they confidently decamp."
"What do you think about granting their request faster?" Kathleen asked,
"You mean…" Ariel began but trailed off.
The person they have sent to keep an eye on Mrs Beazell and her family's activities had called to inform Kathleen that they were making plans for her to be released from the police station yesterday under the pretense that she was sick.
