Linda's head drooped down, she couldn't even lift her head to face Shawn. 'How did he know that was what I actually meant to ask?' she wondered.
From across the room, she heard Shawn's voice.
"Oh, so your family became so complacent because I did not do anything to you after your despicable action six years ago?"
"It's been such a long time, Shawn and I thought you had forgiven me, I'm still very sorry for what I did back then. Is there nothing I can do to make you forgive me?"
"You have done enough to show me that you are indeed very sorry," Shawn nodded vigorously and his mouth curled in disgust at Linda's failed attempt to sound sincere.
"I only let that go then because of the long years of friendship between my late father and your father."
"But since your mother dared to lay a hand on my wife, that friendship is forever terminated and I promise that I won't hold back anymore."
