Her frail looking hands reached out to touch Shawn's strong arms and a slight tremor coursed through his entire body.
"Nana," he called, his voice choked with emotion.
"Son," she answered weakly.
The voice was coarse and dry but it was still music to Shawn's ears. Afterall he hasn't heard that voice for a long time now.
The nurse who had been wriggling her fingers reluctantly stepped forward. Her words were almost a whisper as she spoke.
"I'm sorry to say this sir, but… the doctor said we should not allow her to stress herself too much for now as she is still very weak."
Shawn nodded in understanding. "I was too excited just now."
