As soon as she was within arms length, she caught Kathleen in a tight embrace.
"Thank God you are fine," she said. "If anything had happened to you, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself for the rest of my life."
Kathleen understood the burden of the guilt Cheryl felt and only by talking about it would she be relieved.
But she also understood the purpose behind her actions. It was rare to get Jason to spend some time with her as a busy president. So each time she gets the opportunity, she has to fully maximize it to their benefit.
However, after today's incident, she doubts if Cheryl will make such a demand again in the future.
"You don't need to be so hard on yourself," Kathleen began.
"No, you don't need to sweet talk me, Janice. If I didn't force Jason to turn off his phones, he would have been there early enough to help and none of this would have happened, especially to President Hudson."
