Chereads / Only I Am The Death Lord / Chapter 8 - 08. THE AXIS OF GENESIS

Chapter 8 - 08. THE AXIS OF GENESIS

Someone built the Mother System, an all-knowing system that incorporated every planet it could locate into its own system for protection against the creatures of Dimensional Realms.

Mother System had put an end to many entities that had rebelled against its control ruthlessly and had also avoided the annihilation of many beings from Dimensional Realms.

With the way you looked at it, it was really a two-edged sword.

One of the worlds was Kelion, which belonged to Zachery. There was only the human race in his world.

Before these Dimensional Beings invaded, Planet Kelion was already merged. Before planet Kelion was integrated, there were a few Dimensional Beings, but they were Low-Order Beings.

And his planet also didn't lack any powerhouse too.

Our planet was given a chance by the Mother system when it contacted our planet and combined it with the "Planet" known as Axis, the Axis of Genisis.

It was a world made up of various layers rather than a planet in the conventional sense.

Bloodlines, power, and even a man who could use Perma Frost were among the many things there. When he was able to do that, that person gained enormous fame too.

[Master?] Zachery was startled by his internal monologue as Alexa approached him.

"Cough...Okay, well, let me clarify. Zachery coughed in embarrassment as he crossed his arms, and carried on the conversation. "I take it you have a certain amount of pure reality-warping energy inside you?" Zachery started probing.

[Yep!] Alexa said in an excited tone.

"My wish must thus fall inside the bounds of 'this' reality, am I correct?" Zachery questioned Alexa with a skeptical expression on his face.

[Yep!] Again, there is way too much excitement oozing from her!

"Mmm..." Zachery paused to reflect. He wasn't naive enough to accept things at face value. He was a 64-year-old veteran, and even though his methods of survival were not as magical as others, he had been able to survive up until this point because he was quite paranoid.

He was trying to make a point by saying that... He knew there would be a cost; he wasn't some simple-minded teenager who thought everything would be free and fair. It has always been that way. Always, there was-

"There is a cost to be paid," Zach's thoughts were read by the monstrous creature like an open book as it grunted. "You're right, there are no free meals in this world. You have a duty to hold my power."

"And that is..." Zachery mentally cursed Grendum for inserting an unexpectedly tense silence. "To continue the stage of evolution that I have personally reached."

"As for her, She can grant any wish for you; the only drawback I can think of is that after granting your wish, she would remain soulbound in your soul." The dread spoke as he put a hand on its chin and hummed.

While Zachery continued his contemplation to himself, Alexa scowled towards Grendum and started another round of banter. Willing to seize this opportunity, he did so, and his mind agreed. He could afford to have one final chuckle at their prank before he died if it was all a hoax.

"Can I get the strongest bloodline in this whole Omniverse," Zachery said all of a sudden, listening to the genuine explanation of this monstrosity, Zachery was starting to test the waters with them.

One of the easiest and most effective methods to gain power was through bloodlines. The Axis was populated by individuals from fantasy races with strong bloodlines and genetics.

It was one of the most thoroughly investigated subjects Zachery had found while on the Axis, and he had seen many races in his time as a mercenary.

According to what Alexa had mentioned, everything that was a power-based wish would start over from the beginning, leaving only potential. So wishing for a bloodline was the most fitting desire.

Wishing for the strongest bloodline in the omniverse was a silly wish as well.

It would be like laying yourself up for an onslaught from the rest of the Genisis the instant the bloodline became exposed.

He had posed this query for precisely that reason. If the other person had any ill intent against him, they wouldn't alert him of the possible risks associated with the wish.

Even if what they were saying was true, he would be wary of them if they didn't warn him.

They would undoubtedly be granting him this request in order to further some type of secret objective if they had any.

But things were not going according to what Zachery was planning at all.

[Umm... Master... You already have that!] Alexa said as she giggled, all the while pointing at Grendum.

Grendum grunted, "Wish for something else, I am already going to give you my Souline, I am pretty sure that my Souline is the most advanced and has infinitely more potential than any other out there in this Omniverse," and Zach stared at him and Alexa in pure disbelief.

"So, I already have the strongest bloodline possible?" As the paranoid asshole that he always was, Zachery questioned, his eyes pinched.

But now all of it made some semblance of sense. This 'Grendum' was looking for a successor for his bloodline.

Zach felt suffocated by the atmosphere that Grendum gave off by virtue of his being. It resembled Eli's aura from the time he first developed a fear of her due to the evolution of her existence.

But instead of producing dread, this aura created inadequacy. He was already feeling insignificant in the face of a massive mountain, like a speck of dust.

And based on the comments of this "Grendum," he wasn't even operating at full capacity. Zachery gulped quietly as he regarded the beast with a veiled apprehension.

Seeing that Zachery was still a little bit hesitant, Grendum and Alexa were having another banter on their own.

One said that she should give Zachery time to adjust to his situation, but the other said to just get on with it without consent.

With their power, it was merely a matter of whim to find out what Zachery's inner wish was.

Hell, Alexa even knew what Zach's wish was going to be, but she had kept her stance, saying rushing things would always leave some mess that was troublesome to clean.

*THUMP*

The trio stopped what they were doing as they all looked at what the current sound was.

*THUMP*

Someone was ducking trying to get in!
