"Come on, don't be angry with me," Zachery pleaded as he knelt, plugging his both ears with his opposite arms in an apology motion.
Edda raised her arms and motioned for her father to lift her. Zachery smiled as he raised Edda.
Zachery took his wallet and opened the door for him. He was residing on the top level of a low-rent flat. He carried his daughter downstairs with him.
He looked at his daughter, who had a dumb smile plastered around his face. Zachery just shook his head at his daughter. He really felt guilty towards her daughter for not really taking care of her more.
Zachery thought he had to be a dependable dad for Edda to look up to in the far future. Otherwise, he would just be wasting his second chance.
"Zach, is that you?" A fat man in a Hawaiian shirt yelled out, the man had a beard on his face and completed his landlord figure.
When Zach saw his landlord, he turned around. "What's up, Uncle?" Zach waved his left hand while holding Edda in the other.
"Ha! "Did you murder the Zachery I knew?" The obese man looked surprised, then chuckled as his entire body fat shook.
"Come on, Uncle Jake, I can't just hole up forever in that room," Zach remarked, sheepishly smiling. Unlike most of the landlords in the novels, Zach's landlord was a good man.
Uncle Jake and his wife were as kind as anyone else. They were truly nice to him, and one of the reasons was, of course, on-time rent payments.
Uncle Jake and his wife, Ava, were good people even back then. Uncle Jake was always there for him. Uncle Jake, on the other hand, had never seen him go out after being sacked from his job.
"Good, oh, and who is this princess?" Uncle Jake called Edda out as he pinched Edda's cheeks.
"My name is Edda!" "I'm the daughter of my father!" Edda remarked, rubbing her cheeks with a pout. Uncle Jake laughed at the way she introduced herself.
"Ha! You mentioned having a daughter, but you never mentioned she was this stunning!" Uncle said with a good-natured laugh.
Zach smiled and placed his hand on Uncle Jake's shoulders, saying, "Uncle, today is Edda's birthday. So we are going to celebrate!" Zachery replied as he tenderly smiled at his daughter.
"Oh! Then I will not stop you two. Go on!" Uncle Jake said as he tapped Zachery on the shoulder. Zachery moved forward, nodding.
Zachery pulled out his phone and launched the location maps app. He entered 'Costa Light' as the location. The phone looked for a nearby area and set the destination.
The destination was 100 meters away.
A nice distance to walk.
Costa Light was a great international coffeehouse. As a result, Zachery chose that location to serve her her 'Capachino'.
Zachery finally reached his destination after some walk. He opened the glass door with his left hand while holding Edda with his right. Edda smiled ear to ear, getting excited about having her father buy her her most wanted drink.
"Edda, have you ever had a cappuccino?" Zachery asked, perplexed. Zachery's 'ex-girlfriend' made a lot of money, and her current lover was even a 'young master' of a well-known corporation.
So, Edda always received first-class treatment, so it was almost impossible that Edda had not tasted a cappuccino.
"No! Mom always said that children should only drink milk. So she kept saying no to ca-ca... that thing!" Edda said flustered as she still couldn't pronounce the word right.
"Oh, Mmm..." Zachery just nodded empty-minded. He walked forward as he moved towards the counter.
"How may I assist you... sir?" A blonde-haired woman in her twenties greeted Zachery... until she noticed the appropriate 'sir'.
"Can I get a cappuccino and a cup of black coffee?" With an attractive smile, Zachery said. The women behind the counter all turned to look at Zachery. They would, after all, because he had a top-model figure.
The blonde girl stared at Zachery, stunned, for a few seconds before returning to reality. She faintly blushed as she brushed her hair back and typed at something on the screen she had in front of her.
Zachery took note of her and examined her. She had a light brown skin tone and brown cat eyes. She had a natural beauty all around.
Zachery leaned forward, smirking. "Seems like I won't get a reply, huh?" The blonde woman flushed even more as she noticed the 'sir' leaning forward and teasing her.
"Sir, we'll get your order in. You may take any seat you desire, sir." She grinned and gestured her hands to the tables in the back, regaining her confidence.
Zachery moved back, not to look absolute creep. Zachery smirked as he intently stared at the blonde-haired woman. She averted her eyes.
No.
It was not because she considered Zachery a freak.
With his charming smile, I'm guessing Zachery hadn't even learnt how to pick up girls. Then he should have died and buried himself 10 feet underground, exactly like Pablo Eskobar did with his money.
Zachery smirked as he prepared to use his pickup queue, but a pinch on his cheek reminded him that he was with another woman.
He stared at Edda, who was pouting at her father as if he was cheating on his wife. The blonde woman laughed at the child's antics and went about her business, leaving Zachery and his daughter to their own devices.
Zachery utilized his thick skin to ignore his daughter and find a table to sit at. He took a seat on a sofa in the corner. He sat Edda on the sofa as he waited for his order.
He took out his phone and went into social media. Look-in was one of the most popular social media sites in Kelion.
But, as expected, there was no message or anything in his DM's. As he read the posts of others, he opened his profile.
