As soon as I arrived where I intended to be, I sighed.
The World's Core.
This building served as a research lab for the study of World Cores. When the Mother System was just getting started, there were a lot of these laboratories.
However, after a few worlds collapsed as a result of these research laboratories, they were tightly controlled and quarantined.
It seems to work for me, though I'm not sure why the World Core is just idling here without any instabilities.
A world's core wasn't just some volleyball you could pull out of the planet's center and keep for yourself.
The World Core was the main source of life energy for the entire planet, and its awareness would do everything in its power to keep its inhabitants from getting to it.
The natives of the earth were prevented from ever reaching the planet's core in one manner or another by unfathomable heat, void creation, absolute zero, etc.
Naturally, the primary source of energy of a planet would also come from the planet's core. A generator that the entire planet uses to produce energy would undoubtedly be full of energy.
A lot of energy was also not always beneficial. The centre of the planet might collapse under the combined force of around 500 nuclear explosions if not managed carefully.
That was for a world with cold energies. (A world with cold energy means a planet with energies that are dormant, meaning that the natives can't use the energies directly, for example, Earth)
This world had energy in it; if it didn't, I wouldn't have been able to use the mana channel in my body, which I was doing every time to stop the virus' progress. A world with energy was going to pack a punch way more than that.
And I could see that sort of firepower in front of me.
What was I going to do with it?
Of course! To blow this shit up!!!
Because Eli had so much untapped potential that the virus might harness, there was no way for me to win the battle.
The unfortunate humans who were inside the structure were also being tormented by these devourer duckers.
This planet would be one of the devourer race's strongholds if these developments continue to go unnoticed, which is what is happening right now.
Well, can't let that happen?
Ah, well. As I moved onward, I continued to stare at the several holographic displays in front of me that were displaying the condition of the World Core.
My hands quickly sped around the terminal where the World Core's maintenance was taking place.
Do I have to do all this?
I shook my head and tried not to let the sluggishness that was starting to creep up on me make me close my eyes.
Just pause and consider it for a moment. It's not as though the Omniverse did anything for you. It had consistently ducked you in the cruelest manner imaginable.
The World's Core was flickering a little, and a raspy snarl came out of my mouth.
I let out a heavy sigh while still keeping my sights on the game and breaking the safety protocol one at a time.
Why are you acting like a hero, give it some careful thought. Keep in mind that your life has been a complete mess since the beginning because of this kind of hero syndrome!
I literally heard the gnashing sound of my teeth grinding against one another as I gritted my teeth.
I had to admit that this virus had a tremendous knack for ticking people's nerves.
Thank you
I disengaged the final protocol as I pressed the 'red button'.

A tiny smile that had nothing to do with my attitude of apathy crept up into my face as I sighed as I watched the World Core shimmer with instability.
Well, I guess you're happy.
I exhaled as I noticed my muscles squirming and twitching uncontrol-
*BOOM*
I shot off like a cannonball, ripped a hole in the metal wall, and smashed into the snow that was outside as a fist came to bash me in the head.
I made an effort to roll as I attempted to cushion my landing. Eli was fixedly staring at me when I got to my feet.

There is one more chapter because I had to re-edit the previous chapter!
The reason why I didn't give a different voice to the virus that was talking inside MC's head is that it is supposed to be not discernable inside MC's head.
Right now, I am doing a first-person perspective, so I am showing you the story of what the MC sees.
But that is going to change after the first part of the intro ends.
After the first phase of the intro, I am going to change it into a third-person perspective.
Well, I guess you all liked it till now, support me so that you could get a happy author!
Power stones and all the reviews could speed up my writing, so I would be waiting!
