Chapter 29 - 29. THE DIMENSIONAL RACE

Zachery closed his eyes and thought for a few moments as the room fell silent. No one dared to disturb their Lord when he was deeply contemplating anything. They had learned it the hard way from their previous Lord.

Suddenly, Zachery's eyes shot up wide as he thought about the perfect solution.

"Have you ever heard about Dimensional Beings, Heads?" The chief commanders in the Outer Ring and the powerhouses in the Inner Rings were simply referred to as such.

Heads.

When Zachery stated this question, the majority of the Heads inclined their heads (Heads inclining their 'heads', Get it? No?) and glanced at Zachery for clarification. When Zachery was going to explain, the typically clothed but dashing King stepped in to assist his Master.

"Oh, come on! You know, those freaks that came after us like annoying bugs when we invaded Lutheria!" Zachery didn't know when, but when he looked at the King who was explaining, he was eating popcorn with a brand name inscribed on it.

Where had the popcorn come from, Zachery didn't know.

He also noted that the King was wearing a black-tinted spec that did not come from this palace.

Zachery strained his eyes as his mind raced at full throttle. This King had a strong affinity for the element of space, thus he could conceivably leave this palace whenever he pleased.

So, if he had the strength of a King at the start, he would be able to accomplish far more than anyone could have imagined...

But Zachery's intense stare at the 'space' King was misinterpreted by the other Kings. Following the incident with the Fourth King... Previous Fourth King, the rest of the Kings were extremely attentive to these types of issues.

"Luther, mind your manners when you are in the presence of the Lord." The bare-chested King scolded Luther, the 'space' King, and he had the right to do so too.

Luther was slouching in his seat, his right leg dangling on the armrest, while he took up a handful of popcorn and crammed it in his mouth in between the description of what a Dimensional Being included.

"Huh? Oi, Krom! Do you think I am braindead? Huh? Do you seriously believe that the Lord cares about these superficial kinds of stuff? If he did, he should have fired my brain already!"With a wave of his hand, Luther dismissed Krom, the bare-chested King.

And Zachery also nodded his head.

"He is correct. If you have results to display, I don't care about other superficial stuff. And being a King is a type of result in and of itself. So I'm fine with giving you four high levels of freedom." Zachery said it nonchalantly, yet his words generated a stir among the present hierarchy.

Everyone knew what came with the seat of the heads and the Kings if it had been the previous Lord. It brought with it respect and power, but it also brought with it the continual prospect of death on their shoulders.

If they were caught in the deteriorating mood of Hel, the previous Death Lord. Then at least four or five deaths of Heads were guaranteed.

But suddenly, a declaration like this from the current Lord meant that the Heads would have greater independence!

The last thing they wanted was freedom, yet even a smidgeon of protection for their lives would be equivalent to gifting them a fabled artifact.

Whatever titles were employed to streamline the Legions' hierarchy. They all knew that they only had one position, whether they were Grubs, Heads, or Kings.

A slave.

No matter how much power one held, escaping from a binding Primordial force like Death was like asking for... well, Death...

Consider the current situation: the guy seated on the Throne possessed little more strength than the lowest of the lowest grub in the Warmonger Legion, which was the lowest-ranked Legion in Death Lord's army. But all they could do was bow their heads in respect and devotion.

Zachery could see many gleaming eyes and various distraught looks on multiple heads, but he merely grinned.

Hel had no idea, but her paranoid behavior had indirectly created complacency. Her habit of arbitrarily killing heads became so common that most people aspiring for such a position lost motivation to develop.

What was the use of a higher position when all you would get was death at the end?

The army had no idea that there was a way to break free from a Necromancer's grip, and that was to shatter the seed of Death that the Necromancer had set on the raised body.

However, this technique required a significant amount of mental energy, supplies, and experts to implement. As a result, the trade-off was not worth it. If it was just any ordinary lich, there was a chance.

But Hel was not a fool to leave her double-edged legacy to Zachery without safeguards. And one such was the green orb.

Zachery sighed, wishing that he wouldn't have to use the failsafe, because it would inevitably breed fear. Fear, while a good factor in improving production value, was not a long-term means of stability.

Zachery shook off his stray thoughts and quelled the dispute between Luther and Krom with a hand raise.

"As Luther has explained, these critters are now officially referred to as Dimensional Beings by the Verse." Now, these beasts from many Dimensions have banded together and are vying to end the allied front of the Verse's natives." Zachery took a short pause to let his words sink in, and as expected, Luther's jovial demeanor shifted and turned somber.

'It appears that Luther was likewise unaware of it,' That was normal; even Zachery's planet, which was on the edge of another scientific breakthrough in terraforming an inhabitable world into a prospering one, was unaware of Mother System or Axis.

Zachery gradually released his spirit onto the green sphere. The green orb flickered, and the black marble ground between the Ring seat began to move as if they were nanobots with a single mind.

The pixel-like ground moved as if it had a single thought, latching onto each other and seemingly attempting to form some image. The microscopic black pixels that were constantly moving around began to change colors, eventually producing a vast range to form an image.
