All Zachery saw were two metal balls floating in front of him on a pedestal, but Zachery quickly recognized that the two metal balls floating in front of him were the Inheritance that Hel and Grendum had left him.
Because of the aura that the two seemingly regular metal balls were emitting, suffocation was almost certain.
Zachery walked forward, hoping for a better idea of what was in store for him.
The two metal balls were floating on an elevated pedestal, giving them a unique appearance. However, there was an elevated pedestal in the middle of the two that carried some sort of artifact that floated on top of it as if gravity didn't exist.
Zachery finally got close enough to the two metal balls to inspect them. The two balls were different in that one was vibrant green and the other was ominous red.
The fine metal was not completely covering the energy balls but was wedged between what was inside them. There was a small breach between them, allowing the red and green aura contained inside the ball to escape.
And the artifact in the center of these two metal balls was a strange artifact that illuminated a brilliant blue color from the crystal incorporated within it. On the top of the artifact, there were two dragons coiling and separating.
The lowest section of the artifact was encrusted with a white ice-like crystal that shined gently and elegantly.
But its center was incomplete with a hole.
It had a decent hole in the middle, so when Zachery saw the ball and the hole in the middle, he understood what to do with the artifact. (No pun intended)
Zachery stepped forward with his left hand, winding the metal green orb in his hand. With a mechanical twist, the orb popped out with a pressurized click.
[You have acquired the Inheritance of Grendum, The All Consuming. The Molding is now ready for use.]
[Do you acquire the Inheritance of Grendum, The All Consuming?]
[Y/N]
Zachery stared at the notification for a couple of seconds as he looked at the intricately crafted metal ball resting in his hand.
He simply ignored the notification and moved his palm to the other metal ball that flashed ominous red, and with a mechanical twist, the red metal orb was plucked off with the same pressurized click as the other orb.
[You have acquired the inheritance of Helhera, The Death Star. The seed of Death is ready to use.]
[Do you wish to acquire the inheritance of Helhera, The Death Star?]
[Y/N]
Zachery paused.
Was it appropriate to 'acquire' the inheritance now, or was it safe to leave the inheritance at the hands of Cornelius or Alecna and leave it for later?
As things stood, there was no need to hurry.
...
It was appropriate to acquire the inheritance immediately.
He was sort of like an heir to these monsters right now, but an heir might always change. However, it was not the case for a King.
King had to die to let the succession continue.
He could die if there were any greedy enough people here that would ignore the possible consequences to acquire the potential reward.
Who was he kidding?
This was the inheritance of entities that even smacked back Outer Gods. Of course, it was worth it!
But what Zachery didn't know was that as much as an inheritance was an illuminating piece of gold, it would also be the bane of them.
Zachery pressed the 'Y' button on both of them, causing the metal balls to glow brightly in their respective colors. Snaking green and crimson tendrils emerged from the sphere and entered Zachery's body with ruthless accuracy.
If anyone on Earth saw this sight, they would immediately see the connection to how Wolverine gained his powers through the horrific needle experiment.
The contrast between the two was obvious; the other was a metal that ran through his body, but this was energy.
However, most would argue that the former was far more dangerous to the human body than the latter. A qualified scientist, on the other hand, would answer that it all depends.
It depends on the metal you're using; there have been numerous experiments, even in Zachery's world, that used energy and metals for creating artificial supers.
Thus, Adamantium and the pure 'Force' energy of Grendum's inheritance and the pure 'Mana' energy of Helhera's inheritance should be examined.
In reality, Adamantium streaming through your bones would cause greater pain than in a typical human body. However, the death rate was far lower.
No matter what, Adamantium was a metal that was exceedingly stable, reducing dramatic reactions in the human body if the proper approach was utilized.
No matter what technology is used, a barren human body with no connection to any primordial force will reject high-grade energy.
High-Grade energy was always volatile, and regulating it was a challenge in and of itself. Even true powerhouses would burst into blood mist if they underestimated it, let alone the current Zachery's physique, which was as barren as a desert.
But how could the Omniverse's most powerful beings not be aware of the danger and take precautions?
Zachery's feet lifted off the ground as he levitated from the floor, his eyes rolling over as white was the only part visible. If someone had a camera, the title 'Exorcism of Zachery Carlson' would have been a hit horror movie.
The green and red tendrils embedded in him at specific spots prevented his body from reacting negatively to the foreign energy. The energy flowing through the tendrils was moving at a perfect velocity that the arteries inside Zachery could just barely keep up with it.
Overall, the orbs were changing Zachery's body at breakneck speed, which even the finest minds considered inconceivable.
But that didn't mean the method was without flaws. The agony coursing through Zachery's body was indescribable.
Cells were dying and renewing at an unprecedented rate. However, there was a significant flaw in this procedure. What was going on would stun even the most brilliant minds in Mother System.
But that was all happening inside Zachery. There was not even a shred of change in Zahcery's outer body.
His strength, agility, etc were all but the same without change.
It was as though someone didn't want Zachery to get anything from this procedure other than the acceptance of inheritance.
Even a Demon Lord or Demon Cult Leader would frown at this heinous change that the Inheritance has made. Even the cruelest of them all would always strive to make their heir's body as perfect as possible in order to further their heritage.
But this Inheritance was like a stingy middle-class old man, not giving the user a single penny more than was absolutely necessary.
Even though Zachery was towards the end of his consciousness, he could see Grendum's evil grin as if he enjoyed his mind rending.
He cursed Grendum from the bottom of his heart before collapsing to the ground and losing consciousness for no apparent reason.
