Mizar's fight with his brother made him realize something. He lacks dueling experience.
When he sees how much more well his friends handle their duel he knows that he still has a long way to go.
In order to defeat Abel he needs to go through more duels. Especially against a ranker with a lot of experience.
That was because Abel's rank was 10. According to the World Mage Duel Association ranking system, Abel ranked 10th based on his win-loss record and number of official duels. It means that he was amongst the strongest duelists out there.
Not only that Abel has won against the strongest of opponents but he also has the knowledge and information to back up that skill.
And because of that, Mizar finally made up his mind.
He needed to duel and fight against a strong opponent as much as possible for the one month that he has left.
Therefore, Mizar made the decision to go on a holiday and travel around to find a strong opponent, rather than pondering too much about how he should spend his time. He chose to study new spells while on vacation. He would find a lot of strong opponents along the way of his vacation.
As such, he began to prepare his journey.
He carefully unfolded a world map, its vibrant colors spreading across the wall before him. His eyes scanned the intricate lines and formations that delineated the continents, taking in the vastness of the world laid out before him.
The continents were divided into two distinct landmasses, resembling the intricate network of human lungs. The western continent, known as Dextra Pneumon, stretched across the left side of the map, while the eastern continent, named Sinistra Pneumon, occupied the right side.
The names, derived from Latin, directly translated to "right lung" and "left lung" respectively, creating a symbolic connection to the anatomical reference.
As Mizar gazed upon the map, he marveled at the sheer magnitude of the world's expanse. Each continent held its own wonders and mysteries, waiting to be explored. The sprawling landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and hidden realms whispered stories of adventure and discovery.
"Alright... where should I go?" the child pondered aloud, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and excitement.
"How about this!" the boy exclaimed, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Mizar closed his eyes, embracing the thrill of spontaneity. With a confident grip, he held a dart in his hand, ready to embrace the unknown.
With a swift motion, he released the dart, watching it soar through the air before finding its mark on the map.
As the dart landed on a particular spot, Mizar's excitement grew. It was a serendipitous moment, a twist of fate-determining his destination for the next month.
With an open mind and a spirit of adventure, he embraced the outcome, eager to explore the place that destiny had chosen for him.
As he slowly opened his eyes, Mizar's gaze immediately focused on the spot where the dart had come to rest.
A sense of anticipation filled his heart as he saw that it had landed on the eastern continent, precisely on a region along the equator. A smile curled on his lips as he realized he would be venturing into a tropical and warm paradise.
As such he decided to travel there and spent the rest of his free time. However, he didn't remain idle. Occasionally, he would contact his friend to offer support and check on his friend's progress.
In the absence of rigorous physical training, Mizar sought solace in his family library in the countryside. Immersed in the vast collection of knowledge, he dedicated his time to studying spells that he deemed valuable and practical for combat situations.
As several days elapsed, Mizar found himself engrossed in a sea of books and scrolls, scattered haphazardly around him. Despite his family's more modest wealth in comparison to the esteemed Lovetrain lineage, he currently resided in one of the Morgan family's lodges nestled on the remote outskirts of the country.
The Morgans, renowned for their love of travel and exploration, had established a network of lodges throughout the nation, designed with the intention of providing recreational retreats. It was within the tranquil confines of one such lodge that Mizar now found himself. Surrounded by serene landscapes and untamed wilderness, the lodge served as an ideal sanctuary for his pursuits.
He immersed himself in his studies, aiming to increase the number of spells he knew.
"Let's see. I have learned the Fever Up, Fire Fist, and Heat Strike. And as for neutral spells, I can utilize different variations of the Mana Blade," he remarked, reviewing his progress. Within that short span of time, he had mastered a plethora of spells.
Harnessing the power of the Membrane, Mizar experienced a remarkable surge in his learning capacity. The extraordinary display he had shown while mastering the Blaze Accelerator was not a mere coincidence.
The Membrane bestowed upon its user the ability to absorb mana from the surrounding nature, thereby augmenting their affinity with their inherent magical attribute. Despite possessing a relatively small mana reserve, Mizar could cast formidable spells, courtesy of the Membrane's continuous supply of fresh mana.
However, after a while, a sense of boredom began to creep into Mizar's studies. With his newfound ability to utilize the Membrane and expand his mana reserve, he discovered that learning low-level spells had become remarkably effortless and mundane.
It seemed as though he could master them at an alarming pace, leaving him disinterested in anything other than spells belonging to the fire attribute. He held an unwavering belief that no spell within his repertoire could surpass the power wielded by his brother.
"I'm bored... Everyone seems preoccupied with their own thing, and I don't know how to use my time," Mizar lamented, his voice tinged with a hint of frustration.
Sensing the need to clear his mind and find clarity, he decided to embark on a leisurely stroll.
Leaving the confines of his study, where hours of immersing himself in books had taken their toll, Mizar sought solace in the refreshing embrace of nature.
The weight of his responsibilities and the strain on his mind began to dissipate as he ventured outside, hoping that the gentle breeze and open surroundings would provide respite.
As he walked along the familiar paths, the serenity of the outdoors worked its magic, gradually easing the burdens that had accumulated within him. The rhythm of his footsteps synchronized with the rhythm of his thoughts, allowing space for clarity and renewed perspective to emerge.
Engulfed by the natural beauty surrounding him, Mizar found himself liberated from the confines of his worries and immersed in a moment of tranquility. The simple act of connecting with nature served as a balm for his weary soul, offering a sense of rejuvenation and restoring balance to his restless mind.
In this quiet retreat from the confines of his study, Mizar discovered the power of taking a moment for himself, embracing the healing qualities of fresh air and contemplation. With each step, he allowed the weight to be lifted, finding solace in the gentle interplay between nature and his own thoughts.
"Taking a short break wasn't such a bad idea after all," Mizar mused, a soft smile gracing his lips. As he embraced the respite from his usual activities, he realized the value of stepping away and allowing himself a moment to breathe.
In the tranquility of his surroundings, Mizar discovered a newfound appreciation for the benefits of pausing, reflecting, and recharging. The brief intermission had granted him a sense of clarity and renewed energy, revitalizing his spirit and reigniting his passion.
It was a good thing that he decided to take a short break. But, little that he knows, his decision to go outside and touch grass would determine the fate of his future.
