Chapter 195 - 194 Charles Vane

"Interesting."

Whitebeard immediately found him interesting.

He didn't anticipate the Pirate in front of him having such a rare Logia fruit.

The Wind-Wind Fruit, a Logia type, is known to be quite rare and holds a high rank among Logia fruits.

"You're the one picking a fight; let's see if I can kill you."

Edward Weevil eagerly expressed his desire for a battle and charged forward with his large naginata raised high.

"Hmph, don't block my path, get out of the way!"

Charles Vane considered Edward Weevil to be just a kid or something, so he summoned a strong wind to blow him away.

To his surprise, Edward Weevil didn't budge; instead, he slashed at himself.

Charles Vane swiftly moved like a gust of wind, and his sword sliced through the air, cutting straight to the sea and creating a wave to ripples.

"This guy knows the basics of using the Logia fruit, but he's still using the basic ability and hasn't fully mastered it yet."

After watching Charles Vane for a while, Whitebeard analyzed his strengths and weaknesses.

The Wind-Wind Fruit, a Logia type, holds great potential, but the person in front of him hasn't fully tapped into its capabilities, which seems like a missed opportunity.

After more than a dozen rounds of battle, Edward Weevil was starting to get impatient.

Even though Edward Weevil's strength could overpower Charles Vane, Charles Vane is very good at dodging because of the characteristics of his fruit ability.

Edward Weevil discovered it was quite difficult to land a hit on Vane, leading to a dragged battle.

But Whitebeard knew that once Edward Weevil got serious, even if he acted impulsively, he could defeat Charles Vane.

It's only a matter of time, and now Edward Weevil is already furious.

Edward Weevil looked furious as he roared: "Enough! Stop dodging around and fight me!"

As he spoke, Edward Weevil's muscles started swelling, and the tremendous force caused the ship to sway slightly.

"This guy, something wrong with him"

Charles Vane sensed a hint of danger from Weevil's aura. He noticed that Edward Weevil's power seemed to have significantly increased.

However, to prove himself, Charles Vane wouldn't back down. He attacked while Edward Weevil remained still.

Charles Vane's figure transformed into a fierce whirlwind, charging directly at Edward Weevil.

"Wind Killing Storm!"

As Vane's attack landed on Edward Weevil, the power of this move reached its peak.

With Charles Vane as the center, a circle like a tornado was formed around him, and the center was very violent.

If Whitebeard hadn't used vibration barriers to counter some of the force, the entire ship would have sunk.

Whitebeard couldn't help but admire the young man in front of him, even though he was his enemy.

Yet, his actions demonstrated that he was a straightforward person. If accepted as a son, he would undoubtedly become a loyal subordinate.

Furthermore, this person isn't very powerful. Even if we take him down, I doubt Whitebeard would gain any card out off him

Once this person is killed, the Logia Wind-Wind Fruit he possesses will resurface elsewhere, making it hard to locate for a while.

So, after careful consideration, it's more advantageous to include this person in his own pirate crew. However, there's a need to groom a potential subordinate to train as a good captain.

When Whitebeard thought about this, the situation on the other side quickly changed.

Initially, Charles Vane was the attacker, but when his power collided with Edward Weevil, he felt like striking an exceptionally tough object.

Charles Vane was shocked in the opposite direction, and Edward Weevil suddenly opened his arms, unleashing a powerful burst of Haki in his punch.

Charles Vane was instantly punched out, unable to withstand the explosive power of Edward Weevil.

Edward Weevil followed through with the impact, ready to deliver a finishing blow to Charles Vane.

As Charles Vane realized he was about to meet his end at the hands of Edward Weevil, he couldn't escape the inevitable. The feeling of his life reaching its end overwhelmed him.

In that moment, Whitebeard raised his palm, and a forceful vibration materialized in front of Edward Weevil seemingly out of thin air.

This sudden surge of force instantly pushed Edward Weevil backward.

"Oyaji, what are you doing? Why won't you let me finish him off?"

Edward Weevil was a bit bewildered.

"The battle's over, you can stand down now and take a break"

Whitebeard said.

"Uhh, okay Oyaji."

Even though Edward Weevil wasn't entirely satisfied, he nodded in agreement with a shrug.

Whitebeard's weighty footsteps seemed to sync with the rhythm of Charles Vane's heartbeat. As Whitebeard drew near, Charles Vane became extremely nervous.

"Oh my God, why did I ever think I could take down this man? I even lost against the other crew, I'm no match for him."

Seeing the abyss-like gaze and majestic face of Whitebeard, Vane suddenly regretted his actions.

Before facing Whitebeard, Charles Vane was brimming with confidence, but now he couldn't imagine being able to defeat Whitebeard in any way.

Not only could he not entertain the thought of killing, but he couldn't even meet Whitebeard's gaze for more than a minute.

The powerful ones, even without unleashing Haki, still exude an invisible majesty and a murderous aura.

When there's a significant strength gap, just confronting this murderous aura alone can be suffocating and terrifying.

"You… Are you going to kill me?"

Charles Vane asked, sounding like a small animal caught in the grip of fate, said tremblingly a hint of fear.

His voice trembled. There is no doubt that this was the most life-threatening situation he had faced since entering the New World.

"It depends on your answer," Whitebeard said expressionlessly.

"Me? My answer?" Charles Vane responded, his voice trembling.

"The pirate group in the distance belongs to you. You used them to lead my subordinates away, then trying to assassinate me alone. Explain why you did this?"

Whitebeard's tone was casual, but Charles Vane didn't dare to respond lightly.

"I thought you might be an imposter posing as Whitebeard, so I wanted to test it with my own strength and make a name for myself"

"Just a test? It seemed like you wanted to kill me just now"

Whitebeard's gaze intensified, and an invisible storm of murderous intent surged around him.

"Sorry, I wasn't sure if you were truly Whitebeard. I would never have dared to do anything to you otherwise"

Charles Vane knelt on the ground tremblingly.

"Well, telling the truth is a good trait. I'm not concerned about anyone wanting to kill me because no one can. What matters to me is whether you, as a pirate, have something worthwhile"

Whitebeard's words conveyed with a calm demeanor. Indeed, in the current situation, no one could defeat him in one-on-one fights.

Charles Vane lowered his head and remained silent. He didn't know how to respond. At that moment, Whitebeard come again:

"So, become my son!"
