Chapter 33 - Chapter 33

Sam was sitting in his boat, his eyes fixed on the shore. He was tapping his foot impatiently, waiting for one of his men to arrive with important information. The sun beat down mercilessly, the heat making him sweat despite the cool breeze coming from the water.

Finally, he saw one of his men walking towards him from the land. He quickly stood up and made his way to the edge of the boat, eager to hear what news the man had brought.

"Report," Sam barked as soon as the man was close enough to hear. "So, what did you find out? Any updates?"

"Yes, boss. There's an opportunity that just popped up. One of the nearby Alphas is being visited by another Alpha from within the country. I think this could be a good chance for us to have a new ally. We should meet him."

"Interesting. Do you know which Alpha is being visited and who the other Alpha is?"

"Yes, the Alpha being visited is Alpha Davis and the visiting Alpha is Alpha Johnson. I've heard that Alpha Johnson is very powerful and , so this could be a good chance for us to form a partnership with him."

"Excellent work. Let's set up a meeting with him. We need to make a good impression and show that we can be valuable allies."

"I'll arrange everything, boss. When would you like to meet with him?"

"As soon as possible. We don't want to miss this opportunity. Get everything ready and let me know when and where we'll be meeting."

"Got it, boss. I'll take care of it. You can count on me."

"Good. Keep up the good work and let's hope this leads to a prosperous partnership."

Joseph walked into the diner, his stomach grumbling with hunger after hours on the road. He took a seat at the counter and perused the menu, trying to decide what to order. Suddenly, he heard shouting and turned to see a group of rowdy customers at a nearby table. They were belligerent, causing a commotion and scaring off other customers and they were bothering one of the waitresses. Joseph could smell that she was a witch, and the men were werewolves. He didn't want to get involved, but as the men became more aggressive and demanding, he knew he had to step in.

Joseph frowned, not wanting any trouble, but he couldn't ignore the situation. He got up from his seat and approached the group, hoping to calm them down. "Hey guys, can we keep it down? You're disturbing the other customers," he said, trying to reason with them.

One of the men turned to Joseph and sneered, "What are you gonna do about it? Mind your own business."

Joseph didn't back down, he knew he had to act quickly before things got out of hand. He took a step forward, his hand hovering over his holster. "I don't want any trouble, but if you don't settle down, I'll have to ask you to leave," he said, his voice firm and authoritative.

The men looked at each other, sizing Joseph up. They could tell he wasn't just an ordinary customer, and they didn't want to mess with him. They grumbled. Just then, the diner door opened and Sam walked in.

"What's taking so long?"

"This girl is giving us trouble. She doesn't want to come with us, boss" one of the man replied.

Sam noticed the girl hiding behind Joseph. "I see..." he says while turning to Joseph. "Mildred, do you know who I am? Petter is waiting for you on the boat. He needs you, can you come with us?"

Waitress appeared to be completely taken back by the site of Sam. She almost kneeled and hang her head down when he spoke to her. "Yes, my Lord, I know who you are. I apologise I have not heard from Petter in over a decade. I didn't think that this was true."

"I understand..." Sam grumbled "Are you able to come with us now?"

Waitress shaking her head. "Of course Sire, can I just take my things and let my manager know I need to leave?"

"Yes, I will wait for you with my men outside" Sam said as he looked at Joseph straight into his eyes, as if daring him to say something.

"Wait, are you sure you want to go with them? I can help you." Joseph turned to the waitress that still seemed a bit shaken with the whole situation.

"Thank you for your help. But we'll take it from here." Sam quickly responded as the waitress hanged her head low and walked past Joseph to the staff room whispering "Thank you for your kindness. I appreciate it."

Shortly after the waitress reappeared and left the dinner with Sam and his men, leaving Joseph behind feeling a bit uneasy.

Joseph arrived at his friend Ezra's pack after a long drive. As he stepped out of his car, Ezra came out of the pack house to greet him. The two friends hugged and exchanged pleasantries before Ezra showed Joseph around the grounds.

Joseph was impressed with the new buildings and training grounds that Ezra had invested in. They walked and talked about the upcoming mating games, and Ezra expressed his excitement about finding a Luna for his pack.

"Joseph, I'm glad you're going to participate in the games. We both need a Luna for our packs," said Ezra.

"I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not sure if I'll find my mate there," replied Joseph.

Ezra smiled and put a hand on Joseph's shoulder. "You never know, my friend. The fates have a way of bringing the right person into our lives at the right time."

Joseph nodded and they continued their tour, discussing the various challenges and obstacles they would face in the games.

Ezra: Joseph, can I ask you something? How do you feel about politics and the power struggle between royal families?

Joseph: (surprised) Uh, well, I haven't really given it much thought, to be honest. As an Alpha, my focus has always been on my pack and its well-being.

Ezra: I understand that, but sometimes these political alliances and feuds can have a big impact on the packs involved. So, I was just wondering if you feel any loyalty to the Moon family that you're originally from?

Joseph: (thoughtful) I see your point. And yes, I do feel a sense of loyalty to the Moon family. They have a long and proud history of protecting our kind, and I'm proud to be a part of that legacy.

Ezra: (nodding) That's good to hear. It's important for us as Alphas to stay true to our roots and not forget where we came from. The mating games are not just about finding a mate, but also about forming alliances with other packs and families.

Joseph: (nodding) I understand. And I'm looking forward to participating in the games and hopefully finding a mate who will help strengthen my pack.

Ezra: (smiling) That's great to hear, Joseph. And I'm glad to have you as a friend and ally in this journey.

Ezra: Joseph, I know that our packs have been distant from each other for many years, but I believe it's time for a change. As you know, I'm part of the Crescent family, and I wasn't sure if you remembered the time when the Crescent and Moon pack were united?

Joseph: Yes, I remember that it was through the royal marriage many years ago. But that unity had fallen with their death.

Ezra: Not necessarily, Joseph. Would you be interested in restoring that unity?

Joseph: What do you mean?

Ezra: "Joseph, I have to tell you something. The Royal's had children, and their son is trying to restore the unity we once had during his parents' rule."

Joseph: "Really? That's quite interesting. How is he planning to do that?"

Ezra: "He's looking to build alliances with other packs and create a unified front against the threats that we face. I think it's a great idea, and I'm considering joining his cause. Would you be interested in meeting him?"

Joseph: "Of course, I would. I'm always looking for opportunities to strengthen our pack and build alliances with others."

Ezra: "Great, I was really hoping you would say that Joseph. The Royal's name is Sam and coincidentally he is here today. Let me get you two acquainted."
