Immediately Matatizo reached at New Jerusalem city, he went straight away to wedding arrangements. He made a special list of members who were going to attend his ceremony and first on his list was his all times friend, Ngwetse, but on conducting him, he was unreachable. Matatizo decided to go to Keran village to meet Ngwetse face to face because it was going to be the most powerful wedding and being performed without Ngwetse it was to be boring.
He didn't waste much time in Keran village since he was operating on a set time frame. He travelled back to New Jerusalem for wedding arrangements. He organized a marriage ceremony according to his culture which was made up of different components that were to be strictly followed. In his culture, a wedding was to be conducted in a church accompanied by traditional songs and foods. Matatizo had to come up with a group of people to help him in accomplishing this task. In his special list he chose Ngwetse to the overall leader in the committee.
Ngwetse was always on top line to ensure that things are done in the right way. In New Jerusalem was a hive of activities; Ngwetse splitting firewood , Thomas cleaning the compound and Elizabeth preparing a traditional alcoholic drink . These were the works being done in preparation for the mega wedding ceremony. Matatizo himself was in the field looking for the best religious leader to conduct the ceremony. After a long time in the field, he found one man who claimed to be Jesus himself through his preachings. The man of God was called " Yesu wa Tongaren", the name he referred himself as though the villagers called him Eliud Wekesa. The name could not matter alot since what Matatizo was after was conducting the wedding according to the biblical teachings.
After all the arrangements were in position, Matatizo called Olivia and his family from Samba City to attend the planned wedding. Matatizo used village mothers who were very talented in local choirs. On the list of dancers he did not forget the famous isikuti band. The New Jerusalem village could have been exploited with activities for the whole week. Everyone was out to make arrangements successful. Matatizo went out and sourced for a local tailor to make for him the wedding suits. He knew Olivia will hire her wedding dress from abroad so he only organized clothes for the dancers, flower girls and groom assistants. The tailor having limited time, he tried to hurry to meet the time frame.
New Jerusalem tailors never disappoint, the suit made for Matatizo was a mixture of colours but since the time had gone and it was the wedding day, he decided to wear it the same it was. The suit was green on the left hand side and yellow at the right hand side though fitting him. Matatizo was disappointed although happy because he could be noticed from a distance. On the wedding day, a convoy of vehicles reached at New Jerusalem local church for the wedding. Olivia and her family were right away at the church on time.
At church everyone was on his role and as usual Ngwetse was at the gathering side splitting larger pieces of firewood into smaller ones to fasten the cooking process. From the gathering side was a sweet aroma that attracted everyone whose nose used air from that side. Ngwetse was keen with an axe to ensure that no food is lost backdoors. Amongst the foodstuffs that were being cooked was beans, rice, rosted maize and most important ugali. Traditional alcoholic drinks were ready in traditional pots just waiting for the addicts to consume. Everyone had taken a seat ready to witness the best ever seen wedding in the entire of New Jerusalem when they realized that the man of God had not arrived.
"Hello, where are you?" Matatizo asked the man of God. " Mr. Matatizo you have poorly paid me to precide over that marriage so am not coming unless you add me some amount," Yesu wa Tongaren said. Matatizo quickly hanged up the call and went directly to the bank account where he transfered Ksh. 227 to Yesu just to add on what he had sent Ksh.528. After this transaction, it didn't take long before Yesu arrived cycling his old bicycle with one hand and the other hand holding a holy bible.
The ceremony began with a word of prayer followed by several praising songs. People from Samba only followed and danced to the beats of the traditional drums because they were not able to understand the meaning of the local songs. Next on the list was time for isikuti band to showcase their talents. Matatizo unleashed the best of his isikuti dance styles until everyone stared at him. His mixed coloured suit completely gave him an identity in the dance floor. The other side, his wife Olivia did not let this go. She also tried her best to dance to the sweetest beats of the isikuti band. Yesu wa Tongaren then let the couple into the ring exchange session after which the cake was cut locally with a spoon since the knife was busy in the kitchen cutting kales and cabbages.
The cake was divided among the congregation and those who missed were to be compensated with ugali. The session that followed was time for gifts. Ngwetse was not left behind, he gifted Matatizo utensils and promised to give him unborn calf because his cow was five months pregnant. People from Samba City gave alot of gifts as they laughed at the funny gifts from the villagers. Others gave sweet potatoes as gifts others gave raw bananas and others presented casavas as the best prices. Then it came time for meals only Matatizo to realize that food was not enough for the large population. Even the plates were not enough for the people because this was the first wedding ever in New Jerusalem hence many people had come to witness.
To handle this, Matatizo called Ngwetse and told him to call all the villagers and serve them with rice on basins so that visitors could use the plates. Ngwetse handled with wisdom by forming groups of people and served each group of ten people with a basin half of beans and rice that was to be eaten by the use of hands. Spoons were strictly limited to visitors.
Eating in a group was much tricky for the stomach to be filled up but for those with flexible mouth and hands took the day. After food there was a photo session and here Ngwetse was at the front line since he had done photography as a course. Ngwetse was well known by photographic styles and pauses. He took a classic photo with Matatizo. Other several photos were taken with the people from Samba city. Yesu wa Tongaren gave the final word of prayer before Matatizo and Olivia were declared husband and wife as the book of Genesis states. They then went out for honeymoon since money was not a problem to the couple. People from Samba City were given rooms in the OliMa guest house for accomodate before they went back to Samba. The couple decided to move to Freetown city for the honeymoon. Matatizo used Olivia's vehicle since the hired vehicles were returned to the owners immediately the ceremony ended. Using their own vehicle in honeymoon was cheap than hiring a vehicle. Although some people missed food but this remained to be the best ever witnessed weddings in the new Jerusalem city.
In the honeymoon, a phone call was received instructing Olivia to meet her family members before they could travel back to Samba City. This was the time enjoyment had just began. Olivia tried to ignore this but his down to earth brother Thomas kept on calling and insisted Olivia to submit herself at OliMa hotel. A one week planned honeymoon was cut short during the second day. Olivia and Matatizo moved back to embark on their roles as husband and wife as it was declared in church by the man of God.
The couple moved to OliMa hotel to meet people from Samba City for the last conversation before they travelled back. On the arrival, Matatizo was told that there was one essential step he had left out in the wedding process and that was the reason they were agently needed. They were to have a meal together as a family to make the marriage strong and everlasting. Olivia quickly prepared a meal for the extended family, ate together and finally got blessed by parents from both sides. A short meeting took place outside the hotel and later people from Samba City left to the airport for night travel. People from Samba City preferred to travel at night since it's always cool. They prayed for a safe journey before they commenced the long journey.
Olivia and Matatizo were left behind as responsible husband and wife. They went back to their normal businesses to generate more money in their joint accounts.
