Is it possible to have a breakup without being in a relationship?
That's how I feel. I knew I shouldn't have asked that damned question. I should have let things stay the way they are. Now that I talked about it, we can never go back to having a physical relationship with no strings attached.
The problem is, there are strings attached. Even if we stayed the way we were, it would be a facade.
Part of me is relieved I got it out of the way.
The only thing that confuses me is his reaction. He did not answer me. He chose to avoid the question, and then climbed into bed to comfort me wordlessly.
I'd expect him to kick me out and get rid of the woman who fell in love with him despite knowing it's the wrong thing to do. He didn't do that.
After my mind clears, I'm starting to see things clearly. It's not that Will doesn't love me. He can't love me. Something's holding him back.
