Cat is avoiding me.
When I returned from Sicily, she kept blowing me off and finally stopped answering my calls. I'm thinking about what could have gone wrong when Nico barges into my office with what he thinks is the biggest news of the year.
"Alexander tracked down Snow."
"Alexander?"
"The fed who's in love with you. You've fallen out of favor." Nico muses. The fed he's talking about has targeted me unrelenting for years, and my brothers like to joke about her hating me because she loves me.
"No surprise there." I say. This is why I didn't want anyone to know about me and Cat, especially my enemies. I didn't want them to use her as bait to trap me. But it doesn't matter whether or not I'm in a relationship with her, does it? She became a double-edged sword as soon as we took her in.
"Snow is becoming a weak link." Nico points out, flopping onto the bean bag. "Don't glare at me like that. Are you falling in love with her?"
