WILL
"Your little kitten is up to something."
I glower at Levi who's sitting opposite me. "No shit? I would never have guessed it."
He conquers my pawn off the chessboard. "Less sarcasm."
After postponing our meeting and dragging things out for long enough, the two of us have finally met at his house once again. We are playing chess on the rooftop terrace while Cat and Bianca play with the little demons in the backyard.
"What if she's planning something against your family?" he asks.
"I'll slit her throat." I say without hesitation. I'd do the same thing if my brothers or mother were to betray me. It's not personal—it's my responsibility as the don. But when I say the words out loud, I'm not quite certain.
What would she have to do for me to kill her? A month ago, she wouldn't have to do anything. Her existence was irksome enough.
