Chapter 10 - lonely ray

Ray was standing in front of the clothing store, watching Carl walk away. Her heart squeezed with sadness and worry. She knew he was preparing for a dangerous mission, facing bandits and rescuing kidnapped girls. Ray wanted to be by his side, fight by her side, but he had left her behind, saying he was too dangerous for her.

She understood Carl's concern. After all, they had just discovered their newly acquired skills, and they were inexperienced in combat. But Ray felt a deep connection with him, a connection that transcended words and understanding. She felt they were destined to be together, facing any challenge that came their way.

As he watched Carl disappear into the distance, Ray felt mixed emotions. Pride that he was brave enough to face danger on behalf of others. Concern for his well-being and safety. And a feeling of emptiness in her heart, as if something was missing from her life. She knew her destiny was intertwined with his, but now they were separated.

Determined not to give in to her sadness, Ray decided to channel her energies towards a goal. She needed to help in some way, even if she couldn't fight alongside Carl.

With determined steps, Ray ran through the city streets towards the castle. Her heart pounded in her chest, propelling her forward. She was determined to do whatever she could to protect the city and those she loved. Even if you don't have many skills.

Upon arriving at the castle, Ray was immediately taken to the presence of the lord. The city lord, a brave and wise man, was worried about something. A scout reported an approaching army. It was already dark outside and Carl was gone, they couldn't call him anymore.

Ray asked the lord if she could help with anything but the lord just shook his head helplessly. Erika was in full body leather armor, prepared for battle.

After discussing the defense plans, the lord also donned his armor, heavy armor with golden details exhaling an unparalleled radiance, Ray didn't know how to fight so he didn't have armor but he wore a coat of mail as a precaution since Erika was very worried about your sister.

The city was empty, some people with the news left the city, and others just locked themselves in their homes. At the time when everyone would normally be having dinner the war drums and trumpets were played. The lord of the city stood imposingly on the balcony of his castle on top of the hill, contemplating the numerous enemies.

Erika was on the walls, even though she was the youngest daughter of the lord she made a point of being on the front lines, her long golden hair fluttering in the weak and cold night breeze encouraging the soldiers who would fight alongside her.

Ray was next to her father, the lord, with a tight chest thinking about Carl, she couldn't imagine the fact that her first love could be dead at this hour, the tears that tried to run down her face dried with the cold breeze that it hit hard on the castle balcony.

Without delay the enemies started their attack, and in the blink of an eye the gate had fallen, they brought two awakened warriors, one of them looked like a gorilla, he knocked down the gate by himself, the other was a man in his 40s. he wielded his sword with the experience of a war veteran.

Erika was alarmed by this and ran to stop them to everyone's surprise, the awakened warrior who looked like a gorilla grabbed her by the feet and threw her to the ground with absurd force, before Erika even managed to recover the other awakened warrior pierced her. his head with his sword, unable to react Erika died.

The lord seeing this from afar could not react, everyone was perplexed Ray just collapsed and began to cry.

The awakened warrior with the appearance of a gorilla grabbed Erika by the legs and dragged her towards the castle while the other warrior opened the way in front with his precise sword, his objective was clear, the lord and the castle.

In the castle the lord prepared for the fight of his life, gathered the best soldiers and waited in the throne room. Ray was in the farthest corner of the throne room, in tears. Not long after, the great door to the throne room opens and the two warriors enter. The gorilla-looking warrior throws Erika's dead body to the ground.

Even seeing his youngest daughter lifeless, the lord did not hesitate and wielded his sword. Seeing this, the second awakened warrior who looked like a veteran cracked a slight smile. A fierce fight ensued, while the lord's soldiers died little by little, the lord continued to fight fiercely. Even having more strength than the two awakened warriors, the lord was defeated, the two warriors used the lord's weakness, Ray. To be able to stab him with poison. shortly after the lord could no longer fight and lost his life with the sword cutting off his head.

And then, in that dark moment of pure despair, when the city was under siege and hope seemed slim, Ray saw a glimmer of hope. Carl, with his imposing bearing and his gleaming sword, appeared through the castle door to save her. His eyes met, and a smile of relief and joy lit up Ray's face. She knew that despite all the obstacles and dangers, they still had a chance to be together and face the future side by side.

As Carl sliced off parts of the enemy, Ray was filled with a mixture of gratitude, love and determination. She was ready to face any challenge that came her way, alongside the man she loved.

And so, as the battle raged on, Ray found strength in his love for Carl and the knowledge that they were destined to fight together. Fate had brought their paths together, and nothing could separate them now.
