Brutal, vicious, and suffocating. These three words perfectly defined the Barbarian Lands, a subcontinent of the Eastern Territories that stretched all the way down to the Golden Reprieve Sea.
Separated from the Eastern Dynasties at its right by the Savage Fang Mountains, and from the Golden Territories southward by the Reprieve Sea, for thousands of years, the Barbarian Lands had devolved into a place of war and death where seven major states competed for hegemony over the whole subcontinent.
Known as Qin, Zhao, Chu, Qi, Han, Yan, and Wei, the seven major states collectively averaged a population of 100 million people each. The exact numbers fluctuated greatly from one state to another, with Qin and Chu alone possessing half the major states' population. The rest of the subcontinent population added up to one billion—or about 1.7 billion barbarian folks in total.
