"To make up for my blunder I have called for someone I can trust with all my heart. Once he is here no one can even dream of touching this place." Isamu smirked. This wasn't an exaggeration, this man had proven himself again and again.
A man so manly that Villains turned over a new leaf by looking at him once. A hero so heroic that his city had the lowest villain activity recorded in history. A warrior so strong that monsters trembled to even look in his direction.
"Hello… is this Shop Heveanly?" The Strongest Hero of Mankind (Unofficial) King has arrived!
"Yes, you came to the right place!" Isamu smiled waving his hand, but soon saw the metal ball in King's hand that made him stop.
"That's good. Then Shop owner, I'll take a Matcha parfait extra Matcha powder please." However, King walked into the shop and threw the ball into the trashcan near the door without batting an eye.
'Is that Metal Knight's supersonic surveillance drones? They move at the speed of sound and explode when caught. Their firepower is on par with multiple ballistic missiles! And he caught that with such ease that it didn't even explode? Did he break the chip inside before it could go off? But the general structure of the device still held on… don't tell me he perfectly targeted the chip?! Such precision!' Isamu gulped, he disposed of that with such ease and didn't even show a single care on his face for the insane feat he achieved.
But, that was King for you. Even in the face of the greatest danger or doing the most insane things that can never be replicated, he showed no expression. Like it was a walk in the park for him.
"As expected, it was the right thing to call you here, King!" Seeing the kid that happy, King tilted his head.
'Is he that happy that I ordered the same thing as him? Well, I suppose it wasn't bad coming here.' King didn't know how Isamu got his number, but when he heard the kid praise this quiet ice cream shop in his city telling him to come. The urge to go check it came to him and the fact that it sounded like an earnest invitation also helped.
It just felt right to visit this place, and since a kid invited him King didn't want to decline either. The last thing he wanted to do was to hurt the feelings of a kid who was a Class S Hero.
"I like the vibe here," King said as the place brought him some peace. He even wanted to lie down on the soft seat, but for the sake of his dignity, he didn't do something like that.
"Enjoy your order, sir." Grayfia placed the parfait in front of him and left a wake of floral scent.
'A real-life maid… now this is something.' Needless to say, Grayfia became the reason he tried extra hard to not make a sorry first impression.
After all, he had only seen maids like her in video games. Cool and stoic, not to mention the out-of-place silver hair and red eyes that held infinite charm. Seeing one in real life brought his otaku side out, he almost wanted to take photos but her cold look was enough to deter any said notions. So, he could only eat the ice cream while admiring the exemplary maid. But, that didn't last long.
'This is…?!' On the first bite, his eyes widened. The matcha powder was finely ground and gave a bitter yet refreshing taste. Soon the smooth sweetness of milk ice cream came from behind and knocked his taste buds out.
'Tasty~!!' King shouted in his mind but still ate in a civilized manner. But before he knew it, he ate the entire thing. That was the fastest his arms have ever moved aside from playing games.
"So, King do you understand?" Isamu asked with a smile as Grayfia took away the empty glasses cups.
'I see why he called me here.' King's expression became serious, 'This kid also enjoys the ice cream and the like the mysterious employee here. Didn't expect someone so young like him to be into maids, but I can't let a kindred soul be left alone.'
"I understand, I'll drop by this place often." King knew that this kid felt it would be awkward if he came to this place alone, he had faced such situations too.
"Nice!" Seeing Isamu punch the air to celebrate, King knew he made the right choice.
After all, he too needed a quiet shop to enjoy something tasty, most of those places were either too crowded because he visited or so fancy that it made him nervous.
A shop like this was a perfect blend of quality and simplicity.
'Isamu said this is a special place only selected people can come into, so it'll be nice and peaceful where I can enjoy games or novels.' He checked the menu to see that this place had Coffee and some other snacks too, so it became even more suitable for him.
Yet, a problem did reared its head.
"Shop owner… isn't the Aircon set too low?" King almost shivered under his flannel shirt.
"There is no Aircon though." Adam's words made King wonder what happened.
'Did I get sick or something?' King had no idea that the chills he felt were the result of Maid standing near the counter.
Her red eyes scanned him from head to toe to extract all the information. With the help of the internet and the Hero Association's Database, she had read the insane feats he had achieved. It wasn't a big surprise to see his name get attached to the title of Strongest with that alone. Not to mention, the rumors that flew around made him even more incredible.
If that all was true, then he's no doubt the strongest hero in this world. But, she found something else in person.
'He is a regular human.' The red eyes narrowed and a frown appeared on her forehead. It wasn't anything like she read about. His presence itself was faint, even the drone he caught was a pure fluke.
'Master's barrier around the shop intercepted the drone, when he walked in the destroyed drone fell right into his hand by luck. He is an elaborate sham.' Grayfia thought while washing the dishes in the back area.
"He's an interesting fellow, isn't he?" That was when Adam walked in.
"What do you mean, Master?" She had trouble understanding what made King interesting. She had already put him off her radar as a threat, because neither did he have the speed, strength, abilities, not even intelligence to become a threat to them. When she walked by him to collect the glasses she could've killed him a hundred times over, the man was that clueless.
"I mean, he looks like a normal guy but he has a powerful ability." Her eyes widened. If Adam said it then it must be true. Yet, she missed something like that, an act of ignorance and hasty decision-making.
'How can I...' She clenched her hands.
"Don't beat yourself over it. Even he doesn't know he has it, to sense it you'd need to at least be a God." Adam understood it the moment he caught the drone by chance.
"His luck is enormous. The world itself bends backward for him." Grayfia never expected something like that. She thought that it was a one-off incident and disregarded King because there wasn't a need to think about it further.
But, upon looking at things from the angle Adam provided, it was indeed true. As a normal human, there wasn't a way for him to accumulate that many feats on his own. His luck helped him in every way possible. That was how a normal human got touted as the Strongest Hero on Earth over people with actual superpowers.
'He is the ultimate bluff.'
