Chapter 265 - Skirt?

Royal Bedroom, 9th Floor of the Great Tomb Of Nazarick.

"Please tell me if you need anything, My Lord." Narberal bowed as Adam sat on the bed in the royal bedroom.

His nose was with the pleasant scent of roses as he felt the red silk sheets below on this huge bed. As the name suggested, the Royal Bedroom was royal indeed. But, with a dark color code.

"I will." Upon his agreement, she stood near the door without a word.

'I thought she would leave me alone.' Adam sighed. She took the maid-in-waiting concept to another level. He could send her out with an order, but he needed something from her.

"Are you the only maid here Narberal?" He asked flipping through the Codex of Knowledge. He didn't do this every time but this group got his intrigue. And the absence of the Administrator made it easier to summon the book that held all the happenings of this Universe.

"No, My Lord. They have been assigned to different areas and some have left on missions given by Lady Albedo. But, if you will it, I'll call for them this instant." She was nervous too. Why haven't come here in the past hour and why was no one waiting in the bedroom? And this seemed like an opportune moment for her to question them.

"If they have work no need to disturb them." But, she had to stand down because of Adam.

"As you say, My Lord," For another hour the only sound in the room came from him turning pages.

Narberal did nothing except steal glances at him the entire time. She did not utter a word, and it let him understand that she would not speak unless spoken to.

'I expected her to ask some questions. But, oh well…' He shrugged and turned the page again. The real challenge might come from the higher-ups that were like Albedo. Reading through the information related to the floors in this underground stronghold. His hands stopped at one page.

'This place seems interesting.' A smile appeared on his face when he read about the features of the floor.

Narberal gulped when he stood up and walked in her direction.

"We are going to the sixth floor." He said.

"…As you wish My Lord." She bowed and opened the door for him. She failed to calm her beating heart, but as soon as she blinked the surroundings changed.

They were standing in the middle of the Amphitheatre under the night sky filled with countless stars. They were already on the 6th floor before she knew it. Such a task was possible through Teleportation, but the real question was when did it happen?

Narberal didn't have any idea when the spell was formed. But, before that, she had a bigger problem at hand.

Their sudden arrival startled the ones who were fighting in the coliseum. A pair of claws aimed for her back. Being distracted by the sudden Teleportation she couldn't react in time.

'This dragon!' Narberal recognized it, but before that, she had to stop the attack somehow. That attack would injure her no doubt, but the pressing matter was that, 'I would be disgraced in front of the Lord.'

That was unacceptable.

But before the attack could land on her the red dragon halted his advance.

'It is trembling…' Narberal stood in front of the dragon. So, she could see the entire form of the dragon shaking like it was atop an icy peak.

This was an Ice Dragon that Aura Bella Flora captured with her brother in the new world outside.

'But she failed to tame it at the moment and brought it back here to retry her efforts.' Narberal had heard of this. She tried to tame the Dragon by subjecting him to multiple battles, but the efforts so far have been in vain.

"Calm down, it isn't like I'll eat you." Even with him standing at a distance without any hostile movements. That rebellious dragon was cowering before Adam's eyes.

And soon the ones responsible for this came landed near him. One of the two jumped out of the VIP seats when they sensed his presence as the other rushed over. She was the one engaging with the dragon.

"I am honored to be in your presence, My Lord." Aura took a knee and spoke with a wide smile on her face.

As for her younger twin, his clumsy landing caused him to fall on his butt. However, he stood up in a fluid moment fixed his skirt, and took a knee as well.

"M-Me too! I am honored!" His heart pounded at the mistake he made, and he could feel the gaze on him.

The twins felt his arrival at the tomb and wanted to rush over straight away, but Albedo stopped them on her way up.

Aura passed time with the dragon as she waited for other Floor Guardians to gather. While Mare had to watch her battle and cheer as ordered. So, that is what he did.

'But the lord came here so we didn't disobey the order.' They couldn't ignore him if he appeared in front of them. But a problem arose with their haste.

'D-Did I mess up?' He gulped. The footsteps came in his direction and soon he could see black leather shoes in his vision. Mare felt like he should've been more careful with his conduct.

However, the question was something else.

"Why are you wearing a skirt?" He asked.

"E-Eh?" Lost Mare couldn't even look up.

How should he answer this? He didn't know. Was there any good way to answer this? Probably not. But, he had to answer since he asked.

There was only one reason Mare wore a skirt, and he had to own up to it.

"O-Our creator told me to wear this." Mare didn't have a choice in this. The creator said that he had to wear this, so there was no way to argue against it. Even his sister said that it wasn't a problem, and he thought the same. Until today that is.

When he noticed Mare trembling on the verge of tears, Adam sighed. The threatening aura around him vanished and allowed them to breathe a little.

'He's a kid in the end.' The reaction came before he knew it, 'If only I lost these memories instead of the ones from before.'

His hate for such people was strong, but there was no need to take it out on a kid who didn't know any better.

"Alright, now change it." He said and Mare nodded with teary eyes.

Narberal wiped the cold sweat off her forehead in silence. That sudden burst of Intimidation shook them all. Adam appeared calm and normal, but she knew that he wasn't so simple.

'This was beyond anything I have seen.' This was to be expected from someone of his stature. Someone like her would never see his true strength. All she could do was guess and get proven wrong because of his vast prowess.

"I-I did," Mare came back in a rush after putting on the pair of clothes Adam gave him. At first, he was worried since they were too big, but after he wore them they shrank to his size. The fit was perfect.

"Hmm, now you look good." Adam smiled, he made them on the spot but they turned out nice.

"Keep dressing this way and you can be at ease now. No need to be so stiff." He also had to clear the awkward atmosphere he made up between them.

"Y-Yes, thank you." Mare's face reddened. He felt honored to be complimented and dressed by him. Like he was taken back to the day his creator made him.

But, more than that he can now finally say goodbye to that troublesome skirt.

"My Lord, do I look good too?" Aura sprang to her feet and spun around.

Because he minded Mare's clothes, she wondered if hers would bother him too. After all, she too wore the clothes of the opposite gender.

How would he react to that?
