Chereads / Unheard Wishes: A Tale of Desires / Chapter 152 - Meddlesome

Chapter 152 - Meddlesome

"Gordon, Uta fell asleep in the dining room get her to her ro-," Adam stopped talking when he entered the kitchen and there he found Gordon, lying face down on the floor.

"What happened?" Adam was confused but he learned what happened soon after he helped him up.

"How bad did you make the curry to end up like this?" Adam sighed as Gordon looked away embarrassed.

Adam had told Gordon the detailed recipes, he was having this guy make it over and over again till he got it correct.

And for there to be no waste of food while teaching him about his mistakes.

"See this is the reason I told you to eat everything you make," Adam tried to sound like a proper teacher but he wasn't, it wasn't that he couldn't be a teacher.

'Practice is what makes perfect,' Adam was unhappy since this method worked for him when he started, no in a way this was the only method he had, 'I even increased his metabolism and resistance,' No one taught him how to cook in that world and he didn't know how to cook anything aside from instant noodles along with other basic things like making an omelet and rice.

That is why in order to learn how to cook properly in the new world, he ate whatever he cooked, no matter if it was burned or downright poisonous, he still ate it to make sure he didn't make the mistake again and learn from it.

'I became the God of Cooking using the same method,' And it wasn't like this wasn't working for Gordon, but this guy was old and even if Adam had sped up his metabolism he was suffering from the overflowing 'nutrients' in his body which were going nowhere now that the intake had increased.

So, Adam had a new plan which he was about to add anyway but had to delay before.

"Start working out," Adam said and Gordon was wide-eyed.

"Work out?" He couldn't believe it and it was normal looking at his age, he had never done anything like that in his life.

"That's the best thing to burn the calories that you are eating," Adam said and Gordon was still lost, he was already old, what was the point of building his body now?

"You need to be strong in case someone else comes to this island and has bad intentions for Uta," But Adam gave him the reason he wanted to add this. It was basically a no-brainer.

"Are you just going to die if that happens?" Adam was placing a realistic scenario on the table and Gordon also understood because someone who can do such a thing was standing right in front of him and he was helpless.

But thankfully Adam didn't have such thoughts for them.

Even then, Pirates were indeed running rampant out there and if they came here Gordon had nothing that he could use to defend Uta, no matter what that was not acceptable.

"It looks like you understand," Adam was pleased with that and handed Gordon a book, "You can read this for how to do that."

How to get the Best Overall Body Part 1-A, Gordon read the title of the thick book in his hand and opened it, 'This one looks handwritten as well.'

There was no doubt about who wrote it since he could recognize the handwriting, since it belonged to Adam, How did he know that?

'It is the same as the Cooking Basics for Dummies Part 1-A,' That was the book Gordon was using to learn how to cook, and that book was super detailed.

'It even mentioned how much time something needs to be cooked down to the milliseconds, and ingredients weighed to the grain,' Gordon sometimes felt like there was too much information but, 'That might be what makes his food so good.'

"Read that after you get Uta to bed," Adam said and was about to leave the kitchen. Just like before he was planning for Gordon to venture on his own.

It was here that Gordon couldn't help but ask a question that had been in his mind for a while.

"Why are you helping us so much?" Gordon has been thinking about this since Adam showed up here.

Adam said that he was here by mistake, and if that was true then he shouldn't have any reason to help them or stay here, and if one were to believe the rumors that were spread about him, it wouldn't be weird for anyone to start begging for their lives as soon as they see him.

'Wasn't he called the Devil?' That is why Gordon couldn't get this question off his mind.

What did this devil want from them?

'Even the day he appeared the entire world was bathed in fear,' Gordon knew because he felt it too, everyone in the world did, and then came Adam's bounty poster the very next day stating him to be the Destroyer of Ohara.

And then Gossip broke out from the Marines themselves that the wave of fear that everyone felt that day came from the person who destroyed Ohara, these started from the people who were present at the scene and since higher-ups didn't deny it these words were cemented as truth.

Adam had actually become the Devil that the whole world knew of and the day he appeared is still remembered by the people as the day a terrifying existence awakened.

And that supposed terrifying existence was now in front of Gordon teaching him how to cook while learning how to sing from an 11-year-old girl.

No one would believe him even if he did tell them about this, even he himself couldn't, and that is exactly why he had to ask this after all.

'There has to be a purpose,' Gordon gulped since if there indeed was one he wanted to know, 'I won't be able to do anything but…' he just needed to know if this would put Uta in danger.

"Well…." Not caring for Gordon's internal thoughts Adam sighed, he couldn't blame him but truth be told, "I don't really have anything like an objective in mind." He didn't know what to say since there was nothing to say.

"Then why are you doing this?" This question would surely come up because of Adam's answer, but the answer he got was as weird as the one before.

"I am just a meddlesome person," Adam said with a shrug like it was not important, "But you don't need to worry." He turned around to look at Gordon. "I don't have any intention of hurting you two."

"…" Gordon could just look at Adam since there was no way to confirm his words and there was nothing he could do in this situation realistically.

"Then continue your practice," Adam said before leaving the kitchen.

"…." Gordon knew that he would have to just go with this for now, even if Adam's words were true he had to be careful, and to do something useful so such an uncertain situation doesn't crop up again.

"I need to train my body," Gordon knew that Adam's words were right which is why he opened the book and started to learn how to get stronger.

'Why does it feel like I am forgetting something?' Gordon didn't know why but this thought was bugging him the entire night and it wasn't until morning that found out what it was.

He had let Uta sleep on the chair even after being told to move her, thankfully Adam noticed this after an hour and sent Uta to her room with magic.

The following days went by in a blur, Gordon's days were hellish as he had to cook endlessly and then eat it, and after that; he had to train rigorously to burn those calories.

Uta's days were partially bad and good, the reason for that was she could eat tasty food of her choice, but then she had to spend the rest of the day teaching Adam who was going nowhere with his singing.

'There has been slight improvement…' Uta thought but then her face scrunched up, 'But it is still bad, like it just went from really really bad to really bad.' In short, there was progress but not much.

And currently, Adam was in the dream world with Uta which was created by her devil fruit powers.

"So, Elegia used to look like this?" Adam muttered looking at the concert hall that was fully functional here.

Elegia looked so colorful with light streaming across the place, it was the total opposite of how it was in reality.

"Hey, Adam why aren't you practicing?" Uta was unhappy since she didn't bring him here to look around the place, she wanted him to practice here while was trying to figure out something.

"Hmm, What are you doing over there?" Adam walked over since he saw Uta sitting next to a long table that had various dishes on it and…

'Oh No!!' Uta wanted to make everything vanish but…

"Aren't these the dishes I cooked last night?"
