"I am sorry, I am so sorry, Dan…" Not to mention her voice breaking as she cried Dan was too shocked to speak as Tsunade kept crying.
'Was it because of what happened before? Was it because I went back to the frontlines?' Dan thought as he felt a pang of guilt in his heart, he couldn't even speak because of how bad he felt for pushing Tsunade this far.
To him her reaction seemed normal as she had lost her brother in the war and nearly lost him as well, he had heard how he would've died if it wasn't for Tsunade being the one who healed him.
'She was acting weirdly before as well,' Dan was angry at himself for not focusing on it and hugged Tsunade, 'I am sorry that I didn't notice your unease.'
"It is alright Tsunade, I am here, I won't go away again," Dan said as Tsunade didn't reply she kept on weeping on his chest and it hurt him even more.
Dan had no idea that his relationship with Tsunade would never be the same from this day forward, and the worst thing was he was never able to understand why things came to that point.
Back in the shop, Adam himself wasn't in a good mood.
He had been down in the dumps for a week now, and his mood was a matter of irritation to his guest who was…
"Why are acting like this?" The Goddess of Wishes asked sitting in front of Adam. She had been here a few times in the past week and she had only found Adam sitting in the same place drinking what seemed like alcohol with a blank look.
"You won't understand," Adam said flatly and took a sip of the whiskey.
"What do you mean I won't?" The Goddess of Wishes didn't like being treated this way, she hated it.
"If you want cookies they are in the top right cupboard inside the kitchen," Adam said, and this…
"What makes you think that I am here for the cookies?" The Goddess of Wishes spoke with harrumph but Adam just silently pointed at her hands.
"You already have the jar in your hands," Adam said and the Goddess of Wishes bit into another Choco chip cookie.
"It has nothing to do with the Cookies, I am just here to talk to you about how your work is going," The Goddess of Wishes tried to change the subject as Adam sighed in resignation.
"It is a bit slow but I think I am doing alright," Adam said taking another swig from the bottle but the next words he heard made him pause in place.
"I am talking about your wish," The Goddess of Wishes asked innocently, she was talking about the wish she had heard from Adam, the one she called a pure wish.
"That… will take time I guess, it is going alright," Adam said and the Goddess of Wishes narrowed her eyes.
"Why are you lying?"
"I am not lying," Adam said but…
"You are lying about things being alright," The Goddess of Wishes said and Adam frowned.
"Just eat what you want and see yourself out," Adam said and was about to drink from the bottle but it vanished from his hands.
"Why you!?" Adam looked at the Goddess of Wishes who had the bottle in her hand.
"I am not letting you drink anymore till you tell me what is wrong," The Goddess of Wishes said but…
"Do you think I only have that one bottle?" Adam said and tried to take out another bottle from his storage, but there was a big problem.
"Did you really think that I only took this one bottle?" The Goddess of Wishes had yanked out every bottle in Adam's possession out of his storage space as well. It was very easy for her.
"Your powers are just cheating," Adam complained but the Goddess of Wishes didn't want to hear that.
"Tell me what is troubling you," The Goddess asked but Adam shook his head.
"There is no point," Adam shook his head.
"Why?" But of course, the Goddess didn't like that answer, she wanted a proper reason why he was being like this with her and Adam decided to give it to her.
"Because you will not be able to help, you will not understand my problems," The Goddess of Wishes understood what Adam meant as a conversation she had with him before came to her mind.
'Why you, just see!!' The Goddess Of Wishes frowned and…
"I see, if that is what you think then I'll…." Adam who was looking at The Goddess of Wishes deadpanned as he saw her next action, she took placed her lips on the whiskey bottle and started to drink from it.
'What the hell is she doing?' Adam blinked looking at her as she drank all of the whiskey from the bottle, but it wasn't like that alcohol was going to affect her in the slightest.
'That's from Ai's world, it isn't going to do anything to her,' Adam had such thought as he suddenly saw the Goddess of Wishes stand up from the sofa with unsteady footing somehow.
It was almost like she was drunk or more like someone who had just woken up.
"Yawn~~* What's the big idea with waking me up all of a sudden?" The demeanor of the Goddess of Wishes totally changed, her tone was rougher, unlike her usual soft tone that could melt a person's ears with its sweetness.
It was almost like…
"Oh, I see, You are here," The Goddess of Wishes 'looked' at the sword that was stopped just a millimeter away from her neck and then she turned her head to look at the one who held that sword.
"Who are you?" Adam asked in a cold voice that could freeze hell over.
"Heh. Did I send you into your combat mode?" The big smirk on her face only sent chills down Adam's spine as he jumped back.
"You have good senses after all, but that only makes me question," The Goddess of Wishes looked at Adam, "How can you be so dull at the same time?"
'She really tried to kill me there,' Adam's body was bathed in cold sweat as he looked at the Goddess of Wishes, his hand was trembling from fear, a feeling he had not felt for so long that he thought he had forgotten it.
But he hadn't it was still within him, it is just that he hadn't met anyone who could make him feel it again. And right now his body was shaking from the fear that he might be killed.
"Who are …you?" Adam asked since the one in front of him was completely different from The Goddess of Wishes he knew, it was like someone else had taken over her body.
And Adam was correct, well half correct.
"What do you mean? I am the Goddess of Wishes, can't you see the way I am addressed still hasn't been changed," The Goddess of Wishes said making herself as home as she sat down on the sofa with swagger.
"No, you aren't the Goddess of Wishes…. I don't know you," Adam said still in his combat stance, his mind was racing at unimaginable speed to figure out what to do.
"Well no shit, Of course, you don't know me since this is the first time we meet in the flesh, hmm I like the sound of that," The Goddess of Wishes smirked as she removed the blindfold looking at Adam with her clear blue eyes that seemed to reflect countless universes in them.
"But I am quite sad that you can't recognize me, since I am the one who granted your wish," Adam was left wide-eyed as he looked at her.
"Why are you lying?" Adam asked but…
"Why are you even asking me that question? Doesn't judgment fall under your command? Or is it that you have forgotten how to use that while carrying out your little façade?" Adam gritted his teeth looking at the Goddess as she just smiled with amusement.
"Anyway, as I said, I am the one who granted your wish of craving for the opposite sex, And as you already know I am the Goddess of Wishes, the one who overlooks the domain of Lust," The Goddess Of Wishes crossed her right leg over her left while looking at Adam, "Now, sit down after putting that sword away, I do not wish to harm you."
'Shit, I can't do anything,' Adam was totally aware of the gap of power between them which is why he sent the sword away and sat down on the sofa across her.
"Now that's good boy, maybe I should reward you with something, What do you want? Whatever it is I'll grant it~," The Goddess of Wishes smiled seductively while tapping her chin as if she was seriously thinking about it.
But Adam was in no mood for that and got straight to the point.
"Why are you here?"
