Vito silently walked outside of the room they were sleeping in. Everyone was huddling up in the single bed, but even so. Vito felt no warmth. Physically anyway. Instead, he just felt squished and needed room to breathe. So he decided to go outside and walk a little. And maybe find some new races to kill. The night without stars was quiet and cold as a lone boy walked through the streets without any care.
He watched a sort of weird rodent struggle to escape a trap. Perfect, Vito killed the rodent and left after gaining a new talent. 'First rat has been felled. Racial talent achieved. [Rat Nose]. Smell cheese and other foods from twenty metres away.' Basically useless for Vito since his sense of smell was non-existent. And he didn't need food. But it was nice to have the seventh new race under his belt.
If his theory was correct, every five new races he murdered. He'd gain a new talent box. And every new Era Lord killed meant another talent box. It was pretty nice honestly. The dripping of water was the only sound Vito could hear in this post-apocalyptic shelter. A nice change from the noises of humans his 'kind' hated so much. However, that was for another day, since right now all Vito wanted to do was enjoy the silence.
Finding a place to sit down, Vito calmed his emotions. Even with rational thinking, his undead side still wanted to murder all living beings in sight. Especially Zack, Coco, and Liza for some reason. It didn't matter much to the undead, since he could easily repress the desires with his human side. Even after all this time, Vito didn't know if he wanted to be fully human or fully undead. But he guessed being a hybrid was good too.
Yet, he was aware he was being watched. Still having Hunter's Sense on, he knew a sort of shadowy figure was watching from a distance with a woman. Whether it was the eldest daughter of the mayor, Layla, or some random woman. He was on guard. The shadowy figure was powerful, Vito knew that much. But, it was far from being Vito's superior. It was only a little stronger than him.
However, the threat he could feel from the shadowy figure was much more than when he was going against Jay. Jay was reckless and hot blooded, but this shadowy figure had just as much patience as Vito did. Yet, unlike Vito. The shadowy figure had more time and was in the dark, whilst he was in the light.
"Hiccup! That damn boy." A rugged and peasant looking man came out with a boy in his hands. The boy struggled to be free from his father as the latter raised his hand and started beating Hiccup. Vito watched from afar with no remorse or intent to help. However, he decided to help anyway. In what way was he going to help? Simple! He was going to send them to heaven. Vito snapped his finger as the two males dropped dead in the dead of night.
'Miracle User killed. Spinning a wheel... failed. No racial talent achieved.' Damn, one of them was a miracle user? Vito didn't know that and merely shrugged it off as he took a deep breath before returning his attention to the duo by the tallest brothel in town. Aka also known as, Cold Ocean Brothel. Quite a name, but it fits with the town's name.
The woman looked at the shadow by her side. "Is it okay?" The shadow nodded and responded in a raspy and very old like tone. "Of course, he'll be the one we need for the sacrifice. And after... Keke! No one'll stop my ascension towards becoming a lich." The woman was unnerved and fidgeted a little as the shadow touched her and drained her of some of her miracle essence. She was a miracle user.
Vito really had enough of this and decided to pretend he didn't know of the two. He left back for the inn where he decided to check something out first. He silently made his way to the back of the inn and opened up the storage. He saw some dead moon wolves and a living crab. Vito was incredibly confused, weren't crabs the only race that could live in all five dimensions?
Crabs lived in the Living World, Earth; the Dead Realm, Afterlife; the Mythical Continent, Babylon; the Tormented Plane, Hell; and also the Golden Palace, Heaven. Vito suddenly was on guard, why did he know that? Vito felt that there was more to himself than he thought, that or it was the Ember Pulse. However, Vito had an underlying instinct that it was himself and not the Ember Pulse. The pulse was merely a tool for him to use anyway.
Vito entered the inn once more after killing the crab. 'First crab has been felled. Racial talent achieved. [Adaption]. Crabs can live anywhere for some reason, and so can you! Brave through extreme landscapes with ease. Unless it was created manually.' A skill he might need one day, but not for now. The undead boy shook his head and returned to his room without anyone ever knowing he was gone.
He took a seat by the door and kept watch the entire night, after all. He had no need of sleep. Surprisingly, Liza was the first to rise. "Mmm~ Vito? Is that you~?" Liza asked sleepily, struggling to get out of the very comfortable bed. "Yes, it's me." Vito responded, grabbing Liza by the hand and helping her get off. Liza tried to stay a little longer, but Vito wasn't taking her shit today. "Get up, we have places to go today. Me and you."
"Where are we going?" Liza asked curiously, after being with Vito long enough. Her fear of him just went away. "We can't be wearing such white clothing, so we need to buy some more. All he has is a black cloak too. We also need supplies and other items for tomorrow. So we're heading to the local market place." Vito told her, he also left a note for them. Liza nodded and then asked. "Why me?"
"Because coincidently you were the first to be awake." Liza snorted, she regretted waking up too early. "Early bird gets the worm, Jay used to tell us." The undead boy said to the mysterious girl. Liza grumbled but followed him into the marketplace. It was crowded, like hot damn! People with masks were everywhere and trading. Vito long pulled up his cloak and so did Liza. They didn't need people seeing their faces.
Their budget was ten food tickets. Do not underestimate such a meagre amount of tickets. A single food ticket could give you a hearty meal for the day, buy cold era weaponry, or stay in an inn for an entire day. These tickets were valuable. Why were food tickets valuable anyway? Story for another day. Vito walked through the market place before coming up to a clothing shop. Liza didn't say anything and followed Vito in.
"Clothing for the ages of fourteen year old children." Vito told the shopkeeper with a straight and neutral face. The keeper nodded his head. Why was Vito buying bigger clothing? Simple! Zack, Coco, and Liza were bigger than those their age. Due to being trained, fed nicely, and being clones of others. Accelerated Metabolism was literally the racial talent of clones. And even if they grew to the age of fourteen, then they could still wear the clothing.
Basically four food tickets could last an entire year. Er- for Vito's case, it could last for three years. He was smaller than other people his age, the smallest human at the age of twelve, alive anyway. Vito was around 95 and 100 centimetres tall. Or just a little under a metre of height. Yes, he was short god damnit.
The keeper came back with four sets of clothing. Brown and grey in colour, basically the norm in the current world. Vito nodded his head as he paid for the clothing and left the marketplace. Now they needed to find some shoes for the group, socks preferably too. When they left, they came with only their feet. While this didn't hurt Vito, it did hurt the others. And also Vito was irked by the fact that he had no socks or shoes. He was a gentleman okay?
Entering another shoe place, it was a lot more dirty than the clothing shop. But then again, the dirt was basically unseen. There were boots and shoes. Vito looked at Liza and asked. "Pick shoes and socks for the three of you, I'll find my own." Liza nodded and went off after Vito gave her four tickets, leaving the last two for himself. He looked around before nabbing brown rain boots, and he was about to buy normal white socks until something caught his attention...
"Why did you buy white and orange cat socks, Vito?" Liza looked at him. Vito nervously played with his thumb. "They were cute-" "MOTHERFUCKING DAMN IT VITO!" Vito whistled, never seeing this side of Liza. "WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU GRAB A PAIR FOR ME!??!?!??!?!?!??!" Shit, he forgot that Liza might've liked it. Vito scratched the back of his head. "Sorry?"
"VITO YOU BASTARD-
