Chapter 14 - In-depth Analysis

Endyr couldn't stop a smile bursting across his face after reading the System notification. He immediately stopped packing and sat down on his bed. Then, he opened his System and began to scour for the changes.

Endyr read his Status, finding nothing different other than the additional points in Authority. He then remembered one of the new functions available to him after the System update: he could get a deeper explanation on his Skills and Titles from the System. He then proceeded to try this feature out, starting with Titles.

[Former Denizen of Infinity: You were once a Denizen of Infinity, but have lost that status. You have retained some parts however. Grants an affinity towards Infinity Energy and resistance to Destruction Magic]

[Creator of the Infinite Universe: You are one of the Co-Creators of the Infinite Universe. Grants special Privileges while inside the Infinite Universe.]

[First of his Kind: You are the first of your kind, a mix between Denizen of Infinity and Human. Grants the ability to create your own Race.]

[Endless Spring of Potential: As part Denizen of Infinity, you have theoretically infinite potential. Grants {EX Rank} Mana Core.]

[Vessel of Mana: Your body is comprised primarily of Mana in its various forms. Grants an increased Mana Rank and affinity towards all types of Mana (Elemental, Nether, Prana etc.)]

[Irregular: You are an irregular to the inhabitants of Orvonia. Increases the chance of drawing attention, whether good or bad.]

[Outlier of Regulation: You are an outlier and will cause great change in Orvonia. Increases the chance that Chaotic or Orderly individuals will seek to control or destroy you.]

Endyr diligently took in all his System told him, but couldn't help but scowl upon seeing the effects of several Titles. The last and second Title bothered him, but for separate reasons.

'What does the System mean by "co-creator" of the Infinite Universe? Was I not the only one involved in making this Universe?' Such a thought was slightly concerning, as the System did not state how many Creators there was, just more than himself. 'There is at least 1 individual as strong as me somewhere in this Universe, and they may be hostile to Denizens of Infinity...'

Endyr assumed that the fellow Creator(s) were also reborn like him, or never died in the first place. The chance that they were hostile to Endyr because of his Denizen status was relatively high too. Being one of the supposed strongest beings under the MU System, Denizens had many enemies. It didn't help that Endyr and his kin often destroyed Realms and Planes over trivial reasons, earning the ire of countless Gods.

The last Title also proved troubling for Endyr. According to the System, his existence would cause chaos in the established status quo, and he would be eliminated by those trying to keep it, or used by those who want its destruction. Neither seemed good for the young boy, but he definitely preferred the latter. Being captured and taken advantage of at least allowed the possibility of escape and revenge. Plus, it would likely be an interesting experience for Endyr.

After thinking over the repercussions of being targeted by powerful individuals, Endyr realised there was nothing he could do for now. 'I guess that's Future Endyr's problem now' he thought dismissively. He then turned his attention to his Skills.

[Language Comprehension (E): The user is literate in {1} Language and learns foreign Languages slightly faster than normal.]

[Mana Manipulation (EX): The user can manipulate Mana in its purest form, even more so than Aether. Mana can be commanded to take any form and manipulate Reality itself for a period. Notice: Skill is sealed due to insufficient Rank and Tier.]

[Archaic Dialect (EX): The user can speak the Language of Infinity, and stir the powers of Infinity through it. Anyone who hears words spoken in this tongue will suffer damage directly to the soul and mind. The user can force Concepts to take form through this Skill. Notice: Skill is heavily restricted due to insufficient Rank and Tier.]

[Physical Boost (D): The user can temporarily boost all their physical Stats to {D Rank} for a short period. Causes a backlash to the user when deactivated.]

Endyr nodded his head in appreciation after reading the descriptions of his Skills. [Mana Manipulation] and [Archaic Dialect] clearly originated from his status as a Co-Creator of the Infinite Universe and former Denizen of Infinity. He guessed [Language Comprehension] was given to him by the System as a bonus, but he didn't know the origins of [Physical Boost].

'What's that about System?' he asked

[Physical Boost (D) was awarded to Host when he ascended. Every Ascender gains a random Skill upon Ascending for the first time. Physical Boost is an uncommon one, but not quite rare either.]

'Did Sia waken her Element Skill for hers?'

[Correct Host. Sia Atrazark already possessed {Shadow Movement} and {Bestowment of Nyx}, but they only became usable after she Ascended, similar to Host's other Skills.]

After hearing the System's answer, Endyr frowned as he remembered something. 'So System...what questions are you unable to answer freely now?' he questioned. Before updating, the System claimed that it would no longer give free information beyond Endyr's paygrade, and he wondered just where the line was drawn.

[Host will need to ask a question before the System can decide if Host is qualified to know the answer]

"All right then, who are the other Creators of the Infinite Universe?"

[Insufficient Authority to answer question.]

"Ha...just as I thought" Endyr sighed. He then contemplated another important question. "What is the situation with House Atrazark and my mother?"

[Insufficient Authority to answer question.]

Endyr scratched his chin as he thought: 'Hoh, I guess questions surrounding Continental matters is also above my paygrade. I need something lower...'

"Who is my father?"

[Insufficient Authority to answer question.]

"Damn!" Endyr swore angrily and hit his bed. He believed such a question was simple, but apparently he was not allowed to know the answer to that either. "There has to be some prerequisite, right System?"

[Host can only know answer that is considered common knowledge, or what Host would find out eventually due to Host's current status. As it is, Host will not learn anything substantial about Host's father for several years at least.]

The System's answer allowed Endyr to narrow down the gap, as he asked another question tentatively. "What are the Gods of this planet?"

[There are 20 primary Gods worshipped in Orvonia, though there are also local deities and saints worshipped region by region. The Gods are divided into two Factions: Orthodox and Secret, which are split evenly. The {God of Air and Truth, Zephylte}, has Blessed House Atrazark and bestowed "His" Bloodline to members. The commonly worshipped Orthodox Gods on the Gaia Continent are {Gaia of Earth}, {Dendron of Wood} and {Sol of Fire}, though Zephylte has a secondary presence too. The Secret Gods {Ingrid of Knowledge} and {Chanteur of Dreams} also have a noticeable presence.]

Such information was incredibly valuable to the present Endyr, and he greedily took it all in. After dissecting it, he asked the System a follow-up question. "Whats the relationship between Secret and Orthodox Gods?"

[Orthodox and Secret Gods are opposed officially and believers of the latter are hunted down. There is also infighting between Factions however. {Nyx of Darkness} and Sol are old enemies, while Gaia and {Calypso of Water} hate each other. {Xerxes of War} is dislikes by all Gods in general while {Metallus of Craftsmanship} is shunned by the other Orthodox Gods.]

[For the Secret Gods, {Aenrys of Filth}, {Daemon of Deceit} and {Navruavati of Blood} are seen as disgusting and corruptive by "Their" fellow Gods and avoided. {Fallacy of Secrets} and {Weaver of Fate} are feared by all Gods on Orvonia while {Jester of Mischief} is despised for "His" antics. {Seraphic of Light} is seen as mad and is opposed to all Gods, Secret or Orthodox.]

The large influx of information left Endyr reeling for a second, before he broke down everything he just learned. The situation amongst the Gods was surprisingly tense and treacherous. The fact that 20 Gods originated from a singular planet was also insane, as most worlds don't have enough Mana to do so. Orvonia had to possess at least 6 planets worth of Mana to produce so many Gods, and that wasn't even including how strong these Gods might be.

As he went over the information however, Endyr couldn't help but feel confused over a single detail. "Hey System, why is this Seraphic against everybody, and why is "He" a Secret God if "His" Authority isn't evil?". In the Main Universe, Gods of Light were always the good guys, so Endyr's confusion was warranted.

[Partially insufficient Authority...would Host like to spend Authority Points to receive answer?]

Endyr struggled internally for a moment upon seeing the prompt, but eventually his curiosity gave in and he paid the points.

[3 Authority Points extracted!]

[Seraphic is a tyrant and desires to be the sole God worshipped on Orvonia. To this end, "He" seeks to kill or subordinate all other Gods and unite the world under "His" reign. Seraphic is also insane and highly irrational in regards to "His" emotions. To answer the second part of your question Host, one's Authority or Domain does not determine their alignment. Chanteur and {Polydorus of Storms} for instance, have neutral or positive Authorities but are Secret Gods because the Orthodox Gods dislike them and deemed "Them" as evil.]

After finding this out, Endyr had no more questions and decided to finish packing. After all, he had a very big day tomorrow and wanted to be in perfect condition for it. A good night's sleep was necessary for this.
