Chapter 3 - Apocalypse Scenario 1

The skies had turned ashy and the ground had turned pale, a strange mist wafted through the air as dozens of buildings all around were crushed to the ground.

Still on my leg was the hero, and still blocking my sight was the blue window.

[Please choose the Strongest Dragon God System]

I glared at the window.

[Sorry]

And it disappeared.

It seemed that even if my strength from the other world was gone, this wasn't.

Still, I was just a normal guy, so why in the world did I have to be involved with some random world end situation?

"Uhuh… Jane… Antinaxius…"

I kicked the man sleeping on my leg.

"Who?"

"My wife…"

"You married a cockroach, hero?"

"That's a person's name, Vincent!—"

This fucker talked back to me?

I kicked his face and pushed him off as I stood up. After dusting my clothes, I ignored the hero underneath my feet and looked around.

The strange mist was firing up.

My eyes swerved around the place and landed on a few tiny eyeballs afloat in the air.

Suddenly, another window popped in front of me.

[The constellation 'A hundred and one nights' looks at you with great interest]

[The constellation 'The tortoise and the hare' is curious about the sudden newcomers]

Alright. I didn't want this.

"Block."

[The constellation messages have been blocked]

Wow, that worked?

I kicked the hero's head.

"Stand up."

It was getting tougher to breathe by the moment. I could tell that something was up.

Was it this scenario thing?

"Hey, give us some information on the scenario at least."

[The Strongest Dragon System can tell you all—]

"No."

That window closed and another opened.

This seemed similar, but I guess it wasn't a system since it wasn't parasitic. It seemed more like an information window, a moderator for the scenarios.

[Earth-Scenario 1]

[Time Remaining: 9 hours 34 minutes…]

[Objective: Kill at least one mutated monster within the time limit. The mist of all ends will constantly eat at your mind. Avoid it at a safe spot.]

[Success Reward: Item (Rarity Grade depends on monster), 5 Stat Points, 100 Cash Points]

[Failure Penalty: Death]

It seemed the hero had picked up enough skills from our stupid kidnapping to check these things himself.

"H-hey… Vincent?"

"What?"

"I-It… It says only 9 hours are left."

I nodded at the Hero, Relafan's words.

9 it was. Plenty.

"W-what do we do!? We're back to being goddamn normal humans again! How can we kill some mutated beast like this?"

I thought about his words.

A simple mutated beast on something called scenario one, hinting clearly at more scenarios. We had people called constellations watching over us from god knows where.

"The chances of a monster being as strong as a simple goblin aren't low."

One that even normal humans could kill.

"You're right…" the hero muttered at my words, his breathing calmed as he stood up. "Let's get to a safe place first, away from this mist. Then we'll kill something and get this done with."

"Yes, indeed," I nodded. My lips curled into a grin as I pointed at the giant hound prowling about in the distance. "We'll go kill that thing."

"Oh, goddess. Please, please take me back!"

Goddess? Apocalypse? Scenario?

For taking away my powers, the first one was going to be slapped.

For ruining my normal earth, the second one was going to be destroyed.

And.

For just being annoying, the third one was going to be killed.

I was back on Earth after three years.

And I…

Needed to set it straight.
