Chapter 135 - The Window

I grinned as a gush of blood spurted out of my enemy's shoulder.

This was it. The plan had worked perfectly.

I knew better than anyone that there was no helping a mindless beast. After all, that was how I had survived all this time.

By using my wits.

And as expected, the enemy this time was just as flaky as I would have expected. Once he determined I was doing nothing but using my raw physical prowess to beat him, he dropped his guard.

I immediately slammed my foot on the ground and swung the blade again.

The thoughts of asking him questions entered my mind, and so did the idea of working along with him since he was a human too.

The deep-seated distrust in me refused to let this being come close.

If I cannot control it, it is better off dead.

That was the only way I could be safe.
