"Didn't I die?"
I couldn't feel anything, but I could move.
I couldn't make a voice, but I could speak.
It was strange.
Extremely strange.
Deep red rocks surrounded me all around. Small streams of red-hot lava flowed through them.
It was a cave.
A strange cave, only lit up by the glowing hot streams of lava.
I wasn't supposed to be here. I was supposed to be nowhere, yet here I was.
Memories eluded me. My name, the place I was from, none of it remained.
I only knew two things.
One, that I should have been dead.
And two, that I had to go back to settle a score.
A strange rage, a driving annoyance, filled me up. Slowly, I stepped ahead. My body seemed light, almost ephemeral.
I walked around in the dark cave for a while.
The small while piled up on and on.
I was never running out of breath, never getting tired, never heavy.
That was why I was too late to notice.
