Chapter 45 - Magic...?

After confronting Zhang Hao, the three kids headed home to resume their daily lives.

"Fu Cheng, if you wanted to go out and play, you should have informed me using your Energy Phone! What's the point of Master buying us these phones if you weren't going to use yours?"

Fu Cheng flinched as Yu Feng scolded him, feeling uncomfortable but also a warm feeling spreading in his heart. Was this what having an older brother felt like?

"I-I understand," Fu Cheng replied and retreated to his room, still feeling embarrassed. He had watched his Senior Brother do all the cool stuff while he stood by, unable to protect himself.

Clenching his fist, he felt a renewed motivation to become stronger. "I should train hard and become stronger again!"

Left in the living room together with Shi Wen, Yu Feng sight never left where Fu Cheng disappeared. It wasn't until Shi Wen tried to get his attention as he was hungry.

"Senior Brother, when are we going to eat lunch? I'm hungry..."

Upon hearing his younger brother say that he was hungry, Yu Feng stood up. This time, he wasn't going to order Fufu to cook; he would do the cooking himself.

"Shi Wen wait for a while, I will cook you fried rice."

Shi Wen was delighted to hear that his Senior Brother was going to cook for him. This would be the first time someone cooked for him, except for Fufu, since he was a robot, not a true person after all.

"Yehey! Senior Brother will cook for me!"

Yu Feng began by searching for an apron and putting it on. Then, he took out carrots, cabbage, peas, garlic, onion, rice, and eggs from the fridge to prepare a classic fried rice.

Now that all the ingredients were ready, he placed the wok on the stove and started cooking the delicious fried rice.

As the wok heated up, Yu Feng drizzled a generous amount of cooking oil into it and let it sizzle for a moment. He added the chopped garlic and onions, filling the kitchen with their delightful aroma. Stirring them with a wooden spatula, he waited until they turned golden brown and fragrant.

Next, Yu Feng tossed in the diced carrots, cabbage, and peas, sautéing them until they became tender yet still retained a vibrant color. The sizzle and crackle of the vegetables in the hot wok were music to his ears.

In a small bowl, he beat the eggs and poured them into a well in the center of the wok, where they quickly set into a fluffy mass. With swift movements, he mixed the eggs with the vegetables and rice, ensuring everything was evenly coated with the savory flavors.

A familiar aroma filled the air as he seasoned the fried rice with soy sauce, a pinch of salt, and a dash of white pepper. Each ingredient blended harmoniously, promising a satisfying meal ahead.

Yu Feng continued to stir-fry the rice, making sure every grain was infused with the delightful medley of flavors. He tasted a spoonful and adjusted the seasoning to his liking, smiling with satisfaction.

Finally, he turned off the stove and transferred the fragrant fried rice to a large serving dish. The vibrant colors and inviting aroma were irresistible. With a sprinkle of fresh chopped green onions on top, the classic fried rice was now complete.

As soon as Yu Feng put the bowl of fried rice in front of him, Shi Wen couldn't wait any longer, so he dig in.

"Senior Brother, your Fried Rice is so delicious! Nom—nom!"

Hearing the praise coming from Shi Wen, Yu Feng let out a smile.

"Really? Then I should cook for you at least once a week!"

Listening to the words of Yu Feng, excitement filled Shi Wen.

"Then, once Master comes back you should cook so he will be able to taste how delicious is the food you cook!"

Yu Feng messed with Shi Wen's hair, "All right, once Master comes back I will be the once cooking."

After Shi Wen finished eating, Yu Feng got an extra bowl for Fu Cheng, who didn't seem interested in joining them for the meal.

With a sigh, Yu Feng went to Fu Cheng's room to deliver the food. However, as soon as he opened the door, something flew by and knocked the bowl out of his hands, ruining the carefully crafted food due to Fu Cheng's playful antics.

"FU! CHENG!"

Surprised with Yu Feng suddenly entering, Fu Cheng was panicking, he even knocked out the bowl Yu Feng brought him.

"I-I didn't do it on purpose! Some sort of purple energy came out from my hands so I-I tried to use it. Look!"

Fu Cheng demonstrates to Yu Feng what he was doing earlier, he pointed towards his closets and some purple energy came from the tip of his finger.

However, rather than having the door of the closet open, it broke down into pieces.

Looking at what he had done, Fu Cheng was extremely flustered.

"Uhm, Yu Feng sorry! Don't worry I-I will fix that before my father comes home!"

Although angered by Yu Feng, he swallowed his emotions with a deep sigh.

"Nevermind, just clean everything in your room. Also, don't use your power in front of others... that's not something common in our country, wait for Master to come back."

Relieved that Yu Feng wasn't going to scold him again, Fu Cheng sighed.

Though he couldn't show his power to others yet, he will follow Yu Feng's words and wait for his Father to arrive. He also found it confusing why the power that came out of him was different.

"Senior Brother, do you know what my power is...?"

Yu Feng stood still for a moment, contemplating the immense power of Fu Cheng. Memories of his grandfather's words flooded back, describing this unique power that differed from the Energy their continent harnessed – a power only the people of the other continent would use.

It's seems to be called... Magic?

"Magic... I guess? Anyway, don't dwell much on it until Master comes back."

Feeling happy that he has his own power now, Fu Cheng gave an understanding nod to Yu Feng and went to look for cleaning tools to clean his room.

Meanwhile, Yu Feng couldn't bear to see Fu Cheng's happy face. As he recalled that Magic was considered to be taboo in the whole Crosh Continent.

"I hope Master will be able to think on how to his Fu Cheng's power, otherwise..."
