Chapter 30- Eccentric Swordsman (Part 3)

The door made a loud banging sound as it smashed against the wall before a group of people walked inside. They all looked like typical intimidating hooligans with guns and swords in their hands. They were about 11 men strong from where Asher could see.

The group immediately dispersed around the house with their guns aimed everywhere as if they were expecting something bad to happen at any given moment. Luckily, Asher and Rain were able to hide in good places. Rain chose to hide under the sofa and Asher, who wasn't that far away from her, was hiding inside the fireplace, sticking to the wall with both his arms and legs to stay afloat.

It was far from comfortable but well-hidden from any unsuspecting eye.

After what seemed to be a minute or so of searching, one of the men yelled. "Boss, it's clear! Rizou is most likely in his room!"

Hearing that, Asher frowned slightly. He understood from the little time he had observing these people that they weren't here for a cup of tea.

After that, a man walked inside with a woman basically hugging his body like a parasite, and looked around. He had a rather thin stature with very dark circles under his eyes and a pale face. His clothes were quite elegant and high-quality for first glance and even his jewelry was quite expensive looking.

The woman that followed him was the book-definition of a seductive woman. She didn't stand out but when looked at clearly, she was gorgeous.

"As disgusting as ever, this place I mean." The man murmured as he looked around.

'Yup, he is the bad guy. I sometimes wonder how main characters don't notice this kind of people when their attire and personality scream 'I'm a villain'.' Asher thought as he took a deep breath before he went quiet. The reason for that was the sign that Rain gave him.

'Don't move.' She said with her hands.

"Ugh, the smell, it's revolting. Don't take too much time, honey. I can't stay here for long or my skin will go dry." The woman said arrogantly.

"Of course, my love. We will be done quickly." After that, the boss turned to his men and shouted. "You heard my lovely wife! Open the door to his room now!"

'Shit! Isn't this bad?'

Asher had seen Rizou's condition and if he were to face these people, it was hardly possible for him to fight them. Hell, merely threatening Asher made him cough violently and lost all strength in his body.

But, Rain specifically said to not move and he wasn't going to just ignore her words. If anything, she knew better than he does.

Then, the men approached the door to the bedroom and slammed it open before they quickly ran inside, aiming their weapons at every angle possible.

"Hm? He isn't here." One of the men said as he intended to put down his weapons.

"No!" However, another yelled quickly to warn his friend. Alas, by that time, it was too late.

*Swish*

Like a lightning bolt, a silhouette appeared in front of the man, and with a swift move, a sword slashed viciously, cutting the man's head clean off his shoulders. The head fell down and rolled on the ground with a still horrifyingly casual expression. He died without even realizing that he died.

"Aim your weapons!" The boss shouted at the shocked subordinates.

But, Rizou didn't stop there as the moment he killed the first one, he dashed toward the second and sliced his head off too. The third tried to shoot him in a fit of panic but ended up missing every bullet.

"Aaah!!"

Fear crept into the men's hearts as they felt their bodies freeze and their minds go numb.

"Don't fucking stop! He is sick! He can't move that much!"

Feeling the anger of their boss, the men could only gulp down their fears and quickly charged at Rizou all at once.

"You small bastards never understand your position!" The swordsman said coldly as he swung his sword down, stabbing the ground. Then, Rizou looked up. "Take this."

Instantly, a sparkle of electricity ran through the sword and quickly passed to the ground before traveling quickly across the room.

"AAAAGHHHH!!!" Immediately, the closest men fell down to the ground, fidgeting and shaking from the shock attack before they stopped moving altogether. They all died.

'Tsk, this bastard killed 8 of my best men even though he can barely move. What a monster! But, he can't go for longer.'

And the boss's thoughts were right on the mark as the next second, Rizou's eyes widened as he coughed loudly, spitting blood on the ground. His sword fell from his hand as he bent down.

"Hahaha! Are you dumb, Rizou? Using mana when you're mana poisoned? Did you finally have enough of this life?"

"*Cough* *Cough*... Not before I cut your balls off, Sigrid." Rizou replied with a mocking smile.

"Well, your tongue will never stop hurling insults. Shackle him and put him on a chair. I have something to tell you."

"Oh, are you finally going to divorce your whore of a wife? Congratulations." Rizou said as he chuckled weakly.

"What did yo-" The woman heard his words and tried to respond. But, her husband stopped her.

"Let me do the talking. He is already a dead man."

"Tsk, you better let me punch him a few times for his words! This disgusting worm!" She said as she turned around and stormed out of the house.

After that, Rizou was to a chair and Sigrid was given another chair. "How are you feeling, Rizou?"

"I was feeling great but seeing your face ruined my mood. Just like how every rich man in the settlement ruined your wife's… oops, my bad."

"This is the last warning! Don't talk about my wife or I will dig your daughter's corpse from under the rubble and cut her to pieces in front of you."

Those words made Rizou frown as he looked at Sigrid confusedly.

"Oh, I still didn't tell you? My bad. My memory is sluggish these days. We actually killed your daughter."

'So these were the people responsible for destroying the skyscraper! The bastards!' Asher spoke to himself silently.

As for Rizou, it took him a good second to understand what the man meant but when his eyes fell on the shadow of his daughter, hiding under the sofa, it all clicked.

"No… That can't be." Instantly, Rizou's expression changed to pure shock.

"Don't get shocked, my friend. It was all her fault. If she didn't refuse my offer to work in my labs and create potions for me, this would've never happened. Instead, she stole countless recipes from me and even killed my wife's favorite pet. Death was all she deserved. It's an unfortunate loss of a genius that could've potentially become a great Mana Chemist."
