'' No thank you.'' Danuja said before the tall boy could say anything else. She turned around and begin thinking of all the routes she needs to take just to avoid this bastard.
It didn't work.
'' I can find your parents! I know, well, everyone knows that you were abandoned by them and all but I can surely find them. I have enough sources to find them even if they are not in the country!'' Danuja stopped and turned her head to him. He didn't look in any way like the type to help her find someone but sometimes appearance can be deceived.
'' Don't you want to find your parents?''
Does she? Does she wants to meet the same persons that left her in a house with a dog big enough that could eat her? That they didn't just doom her but him as well? Does she want them back? Does she want to feel their silent suffocating fights? To see how much better they were without her? How fucking happy were they? ... For them to see how fucked up she is?
Danuja laugh at the stupidity of it's all. Because how dare he say that he will bring them back? Find them for her? And for what? Earn some money?
'' Oi!'' she said loudly making him cock his head '' Why the hell would I want them back? And why the hell you think I actually care about them?'' she points at him accusingly '' Would you miss a someone you never know?''
Danuja leaves her back unguarded even though she knows that the guy behind her was burning holes in her nape.

'' I'm home.'' Danuja said taking her shoes off and dripping the bag of dog food on the ground, padding to the living room. Dad was still on the sofa, exactly where he was when she left, the TV open on the News. She takes her seat beside him and he immediately lays his head on her lap, petting his fur.
'' You are getting old.'' she said scratching his ear '' Like a middle aged man. Or something.'' She spend her time lazing with Dad on the sofa looking at the News or reading until her mind begin to work faster than her body and her curiosity begin to pick at her brain.
'' What was the job even about...'' she said to herself, her only answer the constant buzz of the TV and Dad breathing
She stayed in her house with Dad but despite going on the usual walks for him, neither of them ventured further of their home that weekend. And for the live of her, Danuja couldn't shake the feeling of that boy burning, black eyes. Did she regret not listening to his proposal at the very last?
Maybe.
Did she regret walking away when he tried to bribe her with money?
Hell no.
Was she maybe...just maybe a little bit too bored?
Oh well, when she wasn't.
'' Ah.'' Danuja said breaking the silence in the house. Dad glanced curiously at her making her huff '' I'm never going around making food aren't I?'' she glances at the groceries bags and mourns

Comes Monday the two of them were walking lazily, or at last Danuja was, towards the school. Dad was bouncing excited around her, running from a corner of the street back to her until he stopped and walked by her side just to go at it again.
At the gate, Danuja stopped to pet him thoroughly and walked into the school. She switched her shoes, entered the classroom, checked her desk and finally took a seat.
'' Um...-'' a hesitant voice said beside her, surprising Danuja to turn her head towards the voice. Misaki Suzuho, was the most popular girl in their class, pretty, well behaved and kind enough to attract attention not rumors. The fact that she just talked to Danuja means that for one she has suicidal tentacies and for second that someone intimidated her to talk. Her trembling lips and hands were answer enough.
'' After classes ends, there is an older student that wants to speak with you. He just told me to warn you that's all!'' she scatters away before Danuja could react, burning cheeks and all. But she already has a feeling of who was waiting for her.
And for the first time in a while Danuja smiled slowly feeling excited, there was something interesting waiting for her. Not even the rumors of her 'baring her teeth' at people could deter her.
What did they except? She did grown beside a dog half her life.
Once classes ended, she saw Dad seating at the closest shade . Beside him, the same boy from yesterday was squatting cautiously trying to pet him or call him over. He was still wearing a big hoodie in this weather, a pair of equally black pants and strangely enough flip flops. He looked curious like a small child while looking and trying to approach Dad.
" He doesn't like to be touched by strangers." Danuja said when she was close enough to them. In response Dad ears perked up and trotted at her side " Especially suspicious looking guys like you." she added looking at him up and down.
It couldn't possible be healthy to wear such warm clothes in this weather. There wasn't even a breeze, a single wave of wind in the air, just the scorching heat of the sun and the heat induced headache.
" He is really big. Looks like a frayed sheep." he said not minding her comment and pointing out Dad unusual fur. " I didn't hear of you getting in more fights today." he commented confusing Danuja even more.
Why was he so invested in her? She couldn't possible be the only girl that gets into fights. And she isn't even fighting probably, her arms are too weak to throw a punch and her leg muscle is even worse so the best she can do is hitting someone knee or calf. She isn't trained in any martial arts or self defense so he couldn't possible be interest in someone, a girl at that, that fights using her spit, acid words and swears and the occasional tackling on the ground. Those were the most useful.
Was it money? She thought observing him. There wasn't a single expression beside his fixed stare at her and Dad that could trigger her instincts.
" What do you want." she stated making him grin at her " I did nothing to have your...whatever this is." she nods towards their situation and tense her legs.
" I don't care if you beat my juniors, really there are so many of them and all of them are so overexcited that it's gives me a headache." He says nonchalantly stuffing his hands in his pockets
" You have no parents supervision. And guarantee money every month so you won't starve. Also you have a giant dog that's smart enough to protect you and not attack mindlessly. " he steps closer making Dad stick closer to her " Sharp tongue, pretty enough, no friends or anyone for that matter around you. "
Black obsidian eyes staring into her soul.
" That must be boring ."
A suffocating presence.
" And lonely. "
