Once the movie started, they all turned their attention to the screen, but from time to time, Haewon and Jake would turn to steal glances at each other, and each time their gaze met, Jake would wink at Haewon, making her giggle.
As the seconds went by, Haewon's resolve to not be too emotionally attached to Jake was gradually dissolving with each brush of their fingers or locking of their gaze.
Haewon just couldn't help the feeling of wholeness and joy that enveloped her when she was with Jake. It sort of overshadowed her common sense.
Jake, on the other hand, couldn't help what he was feeling either. It seemed like each time, he wanted to pull away. He ended up drawing even closer to her.
Watching how she smiled and laughed each time their gaze met warmed his heart, and it scared him. It scared him that whenever he was with her, he barely remembered his grandmother's words or his promises to her.
