Chapter 21 - "CHAPTER 18 : MEMORIES FROM PAST TIMELINES"

The last thing I remember was fighting with Percy. Then, everything went dark. When I opened my eyes again, I was in a different place. A place that looked like nothing. A vast white space, with no walls, no floor, and no ceiling. Just emptiness.

I felt a surge of panic. Where was I? What had happened to me? Was I dead?

As if in answer to my questions, a voice spoke to me. It was a warm and friendly voice, but I couldn't see who it belonged to. "Hey Aana, long time no see! Are you alright?" the voice said with a hint of amusement.

I looked around, trying to find the source of the voice. "Who are you?" I asked nervously. "Do you know me? Am I dead?"

The voice chuckled softly. "No, dear, you are not dead. You are in between timelines. I'm the world, and I know everyone who lives in me. I know you better than you know yourself. I'm here to give you back your memories from the past timelines, so you can learn the truth about your destiny." Before I could say anything, a screen-like object appeared in front of me, floating in the air. It showed me images from my previous lives. In the first timeline, the apocalypse was normal. There were no powers, no magic, no miracles. Only zombies.

I saw myself and my friends, a group of brave survivors, fighting our way out of the school where we had been trapped for days. We had nothing but makeshift weapons and our wits. We hoped to reach our homes and find our families, but we knew the chances were slim. We faced countless dangers and obstacles along the way, but we never gave up.

We managed to get halfway there, but then we ran into trouble. A huge crowd of zombies blocked our path, coming from both directions. They smelled our blood and flesh and wanted to feast on us. We had nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. The only option was a gate that led to a mansion on the side of the road. It looked like a fortress, a haven. We ran towards it, praying for someone to let us in.

And then it happened. The gate opened and three of us got in. But I was too slow, too scared. I froze on the spot, staring at the zombies closing in on me. Their eyes were red and hungry, their teeth were sharp and bloody, and their skin was rotten and falling off. I thought it was the end, but then someone grabbed me and pulled me inside. He was strong and handsome, with blue eyes and black hair. He slammed the gate shut behind us and we were safe. That saviour was Percy.

But our safety didn't last long. In that timeline, nearly two years long-lived our sanctuary when Oliver found us and killed us mercilessly. He was our enemy, our nemesis. He wanted to keep the timestone away from our reach the timestone, a powerful artefact that could change the course of history. He wanted to use it for his evil purposes to end humanity, and we wanted to stop him. But we failed. We failed to get the time stone and save the world. The world told us we would be rewound and brought back to life until we succeeded. with 2 more chances.

I had fallen in love with Percy in the first timeline, but we died together. He was the only one who could remember our past lives, and I missed him terribly. The world had told me that I would remember everything when the time was right. It also told me that we had three chances to save the world, and each time the apocalypse would be different and harder. If we failed to defeat Oliver and get the time stone, humanity would be doomed.

In the second timeline, we escaped the school and met Percy again. But this time, Hannah and I had already awakened our powers. The apocalypse had evolved, and there were not only zombies but also mutants. Some of them were friendly, like Cupcake, who saved us from a dangerous situation and took us to Percy's mansion. Cupcake and I had a deep bond since the first timeline. My friends were afraid of him at first, but they soon realized he was harmless.

We survived for six years, fighting against Oliver and his army of evil mutants. He wanted to keep the timestone, which was hidden somewhere by him. We didn't know where it was, but we knew we had to find it before him. One day, time attacked us with his strongest weapon: Axel. He tried to kill Percy. I intervened and took the blow for him. The white snow sword pierced my stomach and I felt my life slipping away. I saw regret in Axel's eyes, but I didn't understand why. Then everyone else died too.

And that's how we came to the third timeline, our last chance. I felt horrible for what I had done to Percy in this timeline. I had doubted him and tried to kill him because Axel had manipulated me with his lies. I felt guilty for not trusting Percy, who had always protected us and loved me unconditionally. I wanted to hug him and apologize to him, but I didn't know if he would forgive me.

I felt a cold shiver run down my spine when I realized how much was at stake in this timeline. If we didn't get the time stone, we would all be destroyed forever. I would lose my friends, my Cupcake, my Percy. They were all I had left in this world. I didn't know what had happened to my family, but I hoped they were safe somewhere. I couldn't afford to lose anyone else.
