That was what echoed in my mind. I wasn't sure if I was dreaming or not.
"Excuse you?" I asked, looking directly at Rick.
"I said let's break up," he said
My heart plummeted to the ground. hurt, I croaked what
"You heard me, let's break up," he said with determination in his eyes.
"Why? Why would we do that? we are mates." I said as I gripped the table and it started to crack under the pressure.
"It was a mistake. I never realized my true mate was not here yet. I thought it was you. I must have been desperate after not having one for a long time and all my peers were having them at their time. I'm sorry but this was a mistake I've just realized now." he explained with no remorse for what he just said
"I felt you, Rick. I felt you too. that is the evidence that we truly are mates." I said as I started to question his love.
