Chapter 4 - PART 2

The atmosphere was too hot and dry which didn't do me any good with the mood that I was in. I reached home and then opened the door. I went straight to the kitchen to grab a glass of cold water from the fridge. I drank and then washed the glass. I went to the living room where I found Grey and Nancy playing with toys, well mostly Grey playing toys and Nancy watching him while she painted her nails.

"Tiff!" Grey called after noticing me.

He stood up and then ran to me. I hugged him spinning him around.

"Hey you," I said smiling wide. Man, I missed him.

"I missed you." He complained with a pout on his face. He looked too cute with that.

"Guess what, I missed you too buddy," I replied while putting him down. "Hey, Nancy."

"Hey. You back from school." She stated.

"Yea. I think I can handle him now. You can go home." I spoke

"Ok, thanks." She said while closing up her nail polish. She gathered them and then stood up. She went to the door wearing her shoes. After she was done, she opened the door.

"Hey." I stopped her. She looked at me. "Thanks for taking care of him while I was away," I spoke.

"Anytime." She replied with a smile then left. I closed the door and then turned back to the living room.

"Hey, buddy. Have you eaten yet?" I asked Grey.

"Nancy made me porridge a while ago. I'm not hungry." He explained.

"Good then."

"But I do want ice cream!" he added while smiling wide. His eyes sparkled.

I chuckled. "Ok then. Let me change then we go, right?" I spoke.

"Ok. I'll be waiting here." He spoke.

I was about to go upstairs but a chilling sensation came to me remembering the stalker from that night. I had the urge the lock the front door so I went to lock it. Better safe than sorry. I went to my room after picking up my bag I left it in the corridor when I got there. I changed into a black summer top, camouflage shorts, and some grey and black sneakers. I went downstairs to where Grey was waiting for me.

"Let's go," I told him.

He rose to follow me. I fixed his clothes so that they looked a bit decent. I grabbed my purse and then closed the door behind us. He was excited that he skipped all the way. Five minutes later we reached the ice cream truck which was located just beside the first shops.

"Ice cream! Ice cream!" Grey shouted just as he saw the truck.

"Yes, ice cream," I commented. I lead him to the truck. "I'll have chocolate chip flavor," I ordered. "Grey, what do you want to have today?" I asked him.

"I'll have vanilla and mint flavor!" he stated.

The seller made our orders and then gave us the ice cream. I gave Grey his.

"Wow!" he smiled wide then started licking his ice cream.

"He likes his ice cream." The guy stated to me while smiling.

"Yes, he does." I lied.

"I want to try all the flavors in the world!" Grey stated.

"Yes, let's do that adventure together" I replied while the guy laughed.

I thanked him then took off with Grey. He is such a nice person. You don't usually meet nice boys. Most of them are busy checking you out, throwing inappropriate comments, or trying to make a move on you. It's a headache, like can't there be any decent human being?

We reached home then I made dinner while Grey was watching cartoons on TV. After I was done cooking, I took the food to the sitting room putting it on the coffee table. Being the two of us left I did not see the sense of sitting at a big table in the dining room so I opted to settle in the sitting room. We had Mac n' Cheese.

After we ate, I settled on Grey for bed since it was already his bedtime. After tucking him in, I went to lock all the doors and windows switched off the lights then went to my room. Grey's room and mine were just opposite each other. I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling thinking of school and my friends.

I never actually paid any attention to how people viewed me and I never realized just how much some hate me. Now that I think about it, remembering Kara's conversation with her boyfriend, she was supposed to be all over me trying to dig out of me but instead backed off avoiding me which is the opposite of what could help her. I think deep down she really cared about me. I got up and took a quick shower then changed into my PJs then switched off the lights. I went to sleep after setting my alarm.

The following day I got up early to prepare breakfast and prepare Grey for the day. I made waffles for breakfast. I went to my room to prepare for school. Going downstairs, the doorbell rang. I went to open it. I let Nancy in the house greeting her. I went to say goodbye to Grey then took off for school.

As I was nearing school I heard the sound of a car coming this way. It then slowed down to where I was walking. Gosh, let this be no Zach. I ran my hands to my face in frustration while groaning. The horn of the car sounded twice. I looked in the direction of the car and indeed it was Zach. He rolled down his window and before he could even speak, I cut him.

"I don't want to Zach. Besides, school is just ahead of us." I stated.

"Well, that was a quick rejection. Hope you don't regret missing out." He replied.

"Oh, and good morning to you too." He said as he took off speeding towards school.

I sighed. I just hope school goes quietly just for today. Reaching school, I went to my first class which was history. I took my seat and then settled my bag taking out my notebook and notepad with a pen. I suddenly felt eyes on me. I turned around in time to see Justin looking at me with hate and curiosity in his eyes. I maintained eye contact not backing down till he backed down himself. I looked around for Kara and then saw her at a seat to my far right. I kept looking at her till she turned in my direction. Noticing it was me looking at her she quickly turned around to avoid eye contact.

The teacher came in and then started the class. I was so eager for the class to end. I wanted to talk to Kara even though she didn't seem to want to talk to me but I was determined to talk to her and figure out the truth. I kept looking at the watch. I looked outside my window and got lost in thought. Suddenly I heard the bell ring. I guess i wasn't paying attention that I missed the lesson not realizing it.

Everyone quickly gets out of the room. I quickly gathered my things on my back and then run to the door to catch up with Kara.
