Chapter 1 - 1

Inside an enormous forest, there was a strange discrepancy in the surroundings.

An abandoned building lay in the middle of an opening.

The sun's rays shined on its broken roof and crept into the different, now dilapidated, rooms.

Inside one room, however, was a pristine bed.

On it lay a youth, with raven hair and sickly pale skin.

The sun shined brightly and a light breeze carries a few fallen leaves through the air.

Some got in by the broken windows and fell on the bed.

With sunrays shining and breeze wavin' one could see a dreamy sight.

The pace did not last long as the eyelids moved and the hands shook.

With some difficulty, the man woke up and sat straight.

Looking around and taking in everything seemed to calm him and with a slight move, he landed soundlessly on the floor.

"This energy density and quality...

"There is no doubt that this is the center of the CURA GALAXY"

"The other elders were wrong,

"That place is not a death trap but a tool that converts matter into energy."

"A civilization capable of creating such a device is much more advanced than I imagined.''

"The first step I have to take is to assimilate into this society flawlessly and become one of their own."

Looking around himself the youth began searching the building in hopes of finding some written notes or anything of value.

After 2 days of searching every crevice, he discovered some containing what seemed to be an account of the food that was being delivered and some text he wasn't able to decipher.

"Alas, it seems I have to find a living being as soon as possible to be able to at least recover my strength."

His travel here was one that was "shaky" to say the least and thanks to that his body and soul became damaged.

The best way to recover will be to find living beings and eat them.

4 days of searching rewarded him with 5 bunnies and 3 deer.

He put their corpses on the ground and a stranger rune began slowing on his forehead.

Suddenly the bodies started emitting smoke that congregated into a dark red pill that the man took and instantly swallowed it.

In the next second images started playing in his brain and after 10 minutes he opened his eyes again.

"Seems like this place is weirder than I thought..."

"There seems to be no advanced technology beyond the medieval times in here."

The man was surprised at the level of advancement this place had.

Looking through the memories of the animals the man noticed that there seemed to be some sort of meditation technique practiced by the locals to strengthen their souls and bodies.

"If my theory is true then what I currently see could only be a moon or some sort of auxiliary world of the main one."

"In the worst case, I may brag in some sort of zoo or experimenting zone, in which case I am doomed."

The man was calmly weighing his options and thinking about the current situation calmly.

"Well, panicking will not help me any bit so I will continue advancing and seeing what the future holds for me."

...

After traveling a distance of 138 miles in the span of 6 days the man arrived at a human town.

He, however, did not approach any further since the information he had on the people was minimal to none.

"I should wait for someone to leave and go into the forest to capture and interrogate."

...

After waiting for 3 days a group of people left the town and went into the forest.

The equipment they had coupled with their well build bodies made him understand their purpose.

"A hunting group composed of 5 people left the town.

I will have to follow and wait until they spread out to capture them individually."

The man was lying on the forest floor, covered in grass and mud, watching the people from a relatively safe distance.

"Since absorbing those animals my eyesight became inhuman and my body structure upgraded a few notches."

I swiftly moved around while making no noise and monitored the humans that were slowly moving around the place, searching for animals.

...

4 days later I managed to dispose of each one and absorbed their souls.

A woman clothed in poor clothes arrived at my table and presented me with the food I ordered.

With a swift chat, she went towards the other tables as I slowly enjoyed my food.

The information I gathered from the people I killed made me understand the level of life in this town.

It seems that only the mayor had access to the meditation technique and the average person needed to work all their life to even have a chance at getting a training manual.

No one in this town has a manual tho.

However, thanks to absorbing those humans my strength reached a level that is above the town mayor combined with his whole 300 men army.

I do not have any magic technique on me to measure my current level, sigh...

I will have to take a look at those breathing techniques tho...

With a cold glint in my eyes, I got up and went towards the manor in which the town mayor lived.
