He knew he would need the benefits of a specified class for the dungeon they were about to enter. Furthermore, he had become pretty set at this point in his choice and felt no hesitations.
"Analyze"
He opened his character window everything looked the same as it had before but now he said something new.
"I would like to choose a class" He wasn't certain that this would bring about the process but felt it was quite likely when considering how everything else had worked.
In front of Neil's eyes, a large menu appeared which contained numerous classes.

"So many!" Neil mumbled to himself, he had expected there to only be the basic options but instead there were numerous classes for him to pick between. Normally one must meet special requirements for many of these base classes but it seemed that Neil was able to view and pick between many more than usual as a benefit of his system.
For some this would be hard choice but Neil now knew exactly which one he'd be picking, while there were a few that interested him there was one that he couldn't resist.
"I'd like to pick the Blood Butcherer class" Neil stated to the window in front of him. Quickly a message of confirmation came up and he repeated his desire for the class.
Another window came up that seemed to explain the class in deeper detail than the prior one.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Blood Butcherer:
A dangerous class with a bad alias, it is a rare variant of the berserker class that derives its benefits from blood. While few people attain this class those who do typically become serial murderers or relegated to battlefields within wars. This is because ones mind can erode from the effects of being surrounded by so much blood and because of a growing desire to see and be surrounded by it. That being said it is not a necessarily bad class by any means, the benefits one gains from being near blood are greater than those offered by most classes and the blood itself is unimportant as it can be that of a monster or of a being, whether human, beastman, merfolk, dwarven, draconic, elven, or any other variant that bleeds. This class relies on the benefits of blood and is thus very weak against enemies that don't bleed like skeletons and other undead. Furthermore this means that a blood butcherers strength grows as the battle continues on, starting rather low but reaching monstrous heights. Since it is the sub-class of a berserker it receives similar benefits and costs as one including a heightened health pool and durability against monsters. You will also have an increased strength and it is suggested that you use larger weapons as that will be the best for the class. Some of these larger weapons are: Axe of any sort, specific two handed great swords, large maces and morning stars. Weapons will give you additional benefits in the order they were listed, you will gain none for those that don't fall under the class. You will draw the attention of any enemy you are facing before anyone else and from a greater distance than any other class, further more you will be much more likely to keep the attention of monsters even when multiple people are fighting them. As mentioned in the warning there are many that view this class as evil and will thus will dislike you if not attack you for possessing the class.

Neil was happily surprised by the large paragraph of information on his choice, it was a class he had never actually played with even with all of the hours he had put into the game so it was good to learn so much about this new class for him.
He knew that his choice seemed to somewhat go against his idea of making companions as it would only make people more wary of him on top of the effect his eyes had on people, but nonetheless didn't want to let go of such a good choice. He had been using his axe from the Blue sands and found it to be both enjoyable but also something he was rather skilled with and would only grow more skilled with in the future.
'The insanity does worry me' He thought to himself as while he didn't mind the increased enemy aggression and more distrust coming towards him he did want to remain sane. He also knew he would come into contact with a large amount of blood through his journeys which would only further increase the risk of him being affected by it.
'I'll ask Amelia about it' He thought to himself realizing that she could have some knowledge on the topic with the amount of things she's experienced throughout her life.
Once Neil was done thinking to himself he looked back up realizing that his character window was now showing and there were a changes and a few new skills that seemed to come with his class pick.
"This can't be fair" Neil said to himself looking at his window, he was quite right.

The stat gains by themselves were insane gaining 15 vitality, 10 endurance, 10 strength, 5 will and 60 mana all at the cost of only 2 dexterity and agility. This was like gaining 15 levels all by picking one class, furthermore he was given two skills. Both a passive and an active one that would be extremely useful.
"What a wonderful decision" Neil said to himself in awe after seeing all of the benefits that were brought by it, he was struggling to see why people were so worried about choosing the class.
He now felt much more prepared for the dungeon they were going in, though he still knew it was likely that he'd nearly die at least once while within it. But if he were successful he would gain an incredibly powerful ally who could help him gain more of these powerful relics, especially the more well guarded ones.
"It's switching time" He heard Amelia say from the direction of the tent.
It seemed this thinking and choosing took more time than he had initially expected as he blew through the entire 5 hours going through his choices and evaluating the effects after his choice.
"First there some thing I wanna talk to you about, if that's alright" Neil responded to her.
"Yeah, that should be alright, what do you wanna talk about" She answered now sounding more interested and less sleepy.
"Well first we should talk about the dungeon we're about to go into as I do have some knowledge" Neil wanted to tell her some about it for their safety, though he didn't want her to become suspicious of his knowledge.
"Also I have some questions about my current class, I picked it recently" He felt like he could trust her with this and knew she could be a helpful source.
"Sure, that would definitely be for the better, and also yes you can ask me about your class though I'm not gonna promise I know too much about it. Also I thought you'd be too low leveled to have a class already." She replied to Neil's comments, it seemed she was in a mood for talking as well as himself.
Neil told her more of the information regarding the dungeon, specifically some of the creatures he knew were within it and more importantly the general layout of the dungeon. It took the form of a large downward spiral made up of multiple floors that once you reached the middle you could finally go down to the next which went on until you reached the bottom where the artifact waited along with its defender. Neil knew the defender would be the largest difficulty as one could not take the artifact without slaying it so he'd be relying on Amelia for her firepower as he'd try to distract it.
"And what about your class has you so confused?" Asked Amelia after they had talked on the dungeon.
"Well, it's called the Blood Butcherer" After saying this Neil could see Amelia's face darken, but he didn't stop and decided to keep going.
"I was specifically wandering if you knew about the insanity that one can suffer from within the class?" Neil asked.
"That is a very dark class, I'm surprised you decided to go with it. Knowing you, as little as I do, I would've expected something else, though I guess it's too late now." She momentarily stopped there eyeing Neil
"Well, I know very little about that class in all honesty I've never known anyone with it and only heard of its strong but dangerous abilities, all I can really say is DON'T OVERDO IT. That is how many go insane under the class, they become too immersed within the blood around them and can't separate themselves from it any longer causing an unsatiable need for blood for them" She now seemed somewhat more gloomy than when the two had been talking about the dungeon, but Neil had expected this knowing the subject matter.
"I'll show you the class can be used to great effect, without any insanity, and how it can truly be a valuable and good class!" Neil exclaimed to Amelia proudly hoping it would lighten her mood.
"So be it, You need to sleep now, you've already wasted an hour talking with me. Go to the tent and I'll keep watch for the next four hours" Amelia responded somewhat frustrated but also a little amused by Neil.
"Oh Crap!" Neil yelled as he ran towards the tent knowing he'd need the sleep to recover and prepare.
Once he laid down and closed his eyes he was swiftly whisked away into a comfortable sleep. Outside Amelia was thinking on what all she had just talked about with Neil.
"A Blood Butcherer, that'll definitely make this expedition more interesting" She said to herself.
