Chapter 1 - Ordained

"Arachet get behind me!" Maneuvering his lover behind him with an arm the man growled. "I won't let them have you nor our son." Snatching his dagger from his schenti the hazelnut colored man took a step forth. "Everything will be okay."

"Ohr I believe in you." replied the woman with eyes that gave hope. "We…" feeling a wave of dizziness wash over her boop, boop, boof the crackle and pop of her knees giving out in exhaustion rose to her ears before the soft thud of her hitting the white blanket of snow filled them. "We…are…" spoke Arachet between cold steamy breaths. "We…will…surpass."

"That is reality. For our child will be strong and courageous as his father yet wise and intentful as his mother."

Peering up at the cold fog a smile crept upon the woman's face at the thought. "Our child will be marvelous."

"Why don't you just hand me back what's rightfully mine." a voice cut through the white stillness. "I might allow you to continue to breathe." Raising his torch to the sky, its light pierced through the veil. "But that bastard child will not know the light of day."

"She is not yours to own!" Shouted Ohr with a squeeze of his weapons handle. "And our child will not only see the light, he will become it."

"Ha." bursting out in laughter the man shook his head. "The only light that will be seen will be that in my chambers once I properly consummate with Arachet in the name of her father."

"She has freedoms of her own. Her father does not control her fates neither do you."

"We will see who is in control." their pursuer hollered, drawing ever near. "And you will learn that your fate is what I make of it."

"Hmm" Materializing in the branches of an overshadowing tree and plopping on one of many limbs, a slender individual hidden under a cloak, sat there to spectating.

"You know the punishment for stealing one's property. Do you not?"

"She is not yours, Gard." hollered Ohr with rage and intensity. "The only thing that you own is yourself and according to your belly, you can't even maintain that. How woud you be able to do the same with a woman of such extreme extravagance." Focusing on his breath as he spoke Ohr could feel an energy rise from within. "So let's make a deal. You find someone more worthy of you and allow us to leave."

"You hear that he believes that my maintenance is not up to par." Said Gard to his companions with a raise of his arm and a twist and turn. "I believe once we leave here." Turning his attention to Ohr the man's head rotated slowly, eerily. "You will be in dire need of maintenance, for I will bend and break every bone in your body. Now!" Pointing at his target, Gard gave the command. "Tear him apart!"

Launching his dagger at his first victim Ohr hit him with a bullseye straight into the forehead. "I'm ready!" He shouted with a whip of his spear from his back.

Poof! Popping up in the middle of the mob in an explosion of purple smoke the cloaked figure said,

"It seems you are in need of assistance." Launching an arm forth tendrils of smoke lashed out at the mass binding them. Studying Arachet the person withdrew their hood. "Your child nears death and if he dies your lover will as well. Will you allow me to intervene?"

"What?" replied Ohr with a step back. Tossing his eyes in the direction of Arachet his gaze met the olive skinned, silky haired woman. "Who are you? What do you want?" he asked. Inhaling deeply nerving himself, Ohr awaited his answer.

"I am Prime The Herit and I am an Arcadian. Procyonidae to be exact. I want to spare your child. His soul shines bright, his light deserves to be seen. Will you allow this to take place?"

Clenching his fist in thought, Ohr asked him, "How?"

"With both science and magic. We Procyonidae are creatures that extend between the realms of both life and death. We hone the ability to raise from this density and shift dimensions."

 "I don't understand."

"I am a geneticist. I will use my Hedron to alter your son's DNA allowing him to heal both himself and his mother."

"And what price will I have to pay for this?" asked Ohr.

"None." replied Prime. "Just take great care of the child. Watch him as well? This alteration will give him and brand his soul with a Gen to go along with his purpose. I know not what he will become but I know at this moment this is his only chance for survival. Speak now or allow your child's spark to die out. You must answer now."

Clenching his jaw, Ohr shouted. "Save them."

"As you please." Transition into her Arcadian form Prime took on the shape of a Raccoon like humanoid. Gliding over to Arachet on blazes of shadows the Procyonidae placed her hand over her heart. Eying the glimmering green light coming from her chest Ohr eyes went wide at the withdrawing of a staff with a Heptahedron head. Lowering the staff to the snow a golden orange heptagram with six flower petals, three circles and a crescent moon w
