"Okay students, it's time for the next assessment test," Takeshi announced, glancing towards the nobles gathered in the hall. He continued, "It's time to showcase those skills that you talked about. When you enter this machine, it will give you a random C-rank beast. Whatever you get from killing the beast will be projected to real life."
Avius stepped forward once again, this time facing a baby wyvern. He expressed his dissatisfaction, saying, "Why give me a baby when you can give me a grown-up beast? Well, not to worry. I will end this quickly." The wyvern exhaled, but the students saw nothing. Almost immediately, Avius' ears started bleeding as the wyvern was a sound wyvern. Undeterred, Avius used the {Spirit's Grasp} skill, throwing the wyvern up in the air. The wyvern attempted to use an attack, but Avius used the {Spirit's Grasp} to hold it down on its mouth, causing the attack to backfire and blowing the wyvern's head off.
Jiro stepped into the machine next and faced a poison gecko. She gave it no chance to attack, using {Supersonic Waves} to instantly kill the beast.
The next person up was Taekeshi Prima, who was paired with a Lava Tiger. He used {Cockatrice's Glance} and looked the beast in the eyes, killing it instantly.
Finally, it was Akira's turn, and he was paired with a baby wyvern. Akira charged forward, using {Terra Nova}, not giving the beast a chance to think. He forged a maze of earth, and when the wyvern tried to use its exhaling trick, the walls reflected the attack, tearing through the beast's head.
Takeshi spoke again, "Okay, those who passed this test, come with me; those who didn't, go to Mr. Sora Nakajima to be registered as a trial student."
As the students who passed the assessment were led to the room for the final testing, excitement and anticipation filled the air. They couldn't help but talk about their ranks and what it meant for their future at the academy.
Graven, who was assessed as a Peak B-rank, seemed a bit disappointed but tried to hide it with a smirk. "Not bad for a start, huh? I'll make sure to rise to the top soon," he said confidently.
Hana, who achieved a Low A-rank, was delighted. "I can't believe I got an A-rank! This is amazing! I'll work hard to improve even further," she exclaimed, her eyes shining with determination.
Akira, who earned a mid S-rank, felt a mix of pride and determination. He knew he had to keep pushing himself to face the tougher challenges that lay ahead.
As they gathered as friends once again, they discussed their assessments and what they could learn from the experience. Each of them had their own strengths and weaknesses, and they knew that together, they could support and help each other grow even stronger.
In the days that followed, Akira and his friends continued their rigorous training, honing their magical abilities and refining their skills. They faced new challenges, and with each trial, they gained more experience and knowledge.
They also made new friends along the way, forming bonds with fellow students who shared their passion for magic. The academy became their second home, a place of learning, growth, and camaraderie.
As they prepared for the next stage of their magical journey, Akira and his friends knew that they were just at the beginning of their adventure. They looked forward to the experiences that awaited them, knowing that with their friendship and determination, they would become formidable magicians in the realm of magic. Together, they were ready to embrace the future and all the challenges it would bring.
