It was a beautiful Saturday morning in California. Chloe woke up feeling refreshed and excited for the day ahead. She had planned to introduce Liam to her best female friend, Emily, and was eager to see how it would go. As she got ready, she couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. Emily had always been overprotective of her, and Chloe knew that there was a chance she might not approve of Liam.
But despite her nerves, Chloe was determined to give Liam a chance. She believed in him and hoped that her friend would see what she saw in him.
After getting dressed, she drove over to Emily's house to pick her up. As Emily got into the car, Chloe could tell that she was eyeing Liam sceptically.
"Hey, Emily," Chloe said, trying to break the tension. "This is Liam. Liam, this is my best friend, Emily."
Liam reached out to shake Emily's hand, but she just gave him a frosty glance and folded her arms.
"Nice to meet you," Liam said, trying to be polite.
Emily just nodded curtly and turned her attention back to Chloe.
"So, what do you have planned for today?" Emily asked, clearly trying to steer the conversation away from Liam.
Chloe could sense that Emily was uncomfortable, but she didn't want to ignore Liam. "Well, I was thinking we could grab lunch and maybe go for a walk in the park. What do you think?" she asked.
Emily nodded, but Liam could tell that she was still not thrilled about his presence. He decided to give her some space and let Chloe catch up with her friend.
As they arrived at the restaurant, Liam excused himself to use the bathroom. Chloe and Emily sat down at a table for two.
"I don't know about him, Chloe," Emily said, leaning in. "He seems a bit sketchy to me."
Chloe sighed. "I know he has a complicated past, but he's trying to turn his life around, Emily. I believe in him."
Emily looked at her friend with concern. "Just be careful, Chloe. I don't want to see you get hurt."
Chloe nodded, but a part of her knew that she couldn't let her friend's opinion stop her from giving Liam a chance.
As they finished lunch and made their way to the park, Liam could see that Emily still wasn't fully onboard with him. But he was determined to show her that he was worthy of Chloe's time and trust.
He honestly thought of what he was going to say or do that could make Emily believe that he would not hurt her best friend.
He saw how Emily tried too hard to block him out of their conversation, and then Chloe looked at him and smiled.
He felt glad and smiled back.
As they walked through the park, Chloe noticed that Emily was still being distant towards Liam. She could feel the tension between her two important people, and it was making her uncomfortable.
"Liam, do you want to grab some ice cream?" she asked, hoping to lighten the mood.
Liam nodded eagerly, and the three of them made their way over to the ice cream truck. As they stood in line, Emily suddenly spoke up. "Liam, can I ask you something?"
Liam looked at her, surprised that she had finally broken the silence. "Of course," he said.
Emily took a deep breath. "I just want to know why Chloe should trust you. You have a history of lying and manipulation. How do we know that you're not just putting on an act?"
Liam paused, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. "You're right, I've made mistakes. But I'm not that person anymore. I'm taking accountability for my actions and doing everything I can to make things right."
Emily looked at him sceptically, but Chloe knew that Liam was being truthful. She had seen the work he had put in to better himself, and she believed in him.
"Liam is not perfect," she said, placing a hand on his arm. "But he's trying. And that's more than I can say for a lot of people."
Emily didn't respond, but her expression softened a bit. Chloe could see that she was coming around, even if it was just a little bit.
As they finished their ice cream and made their way back to the car, Chloe was grateful that her two important people were starting to get along. She knew that it would take time for Emily to fully trust Liam, but she was hopeful that they could all move forward together. Chloe went to work to arrange a few things and she saw her dressing room vandalised and the only person who would do this was Jessica, they used to be friends at first but she got jealous that Chloe was receiving more attention from their boss
Chloe barged into her room and demanded an explanation from her but they got into a catfight no one could separate them until their boss came and he didn't give Chloe any chance to explain and directly suspended her from work until further notice. Chloe was devastated, she loved her job and it was her only source of income. She didn't know what to do now. She sat down on the cold floor with her head in her hands, tears soaking her cheeks. She didn't even notice when someone entered her room.
"Chloe, are you okay?" A familiar voice spoke.
She looked up and saw Liam standing in front of her. Her stalker and now a lover But at that moment, she didn't care, she needed someone to talk to, someone who could understand her, and that someone was him
"No, Liam. I'm not okay," Chloe said as she stood up and hugged him tightly. Liam hugged her back and she cried on his shoulder.
"What happened?" Liam asked.
"Someone vandalised my room and I know who did it. It was Jessica," Chloe said between sobs.
"Jessica? But why would she do something like that?" Liam asked, confused.
"I don't know, Liam. She used to be my friend but she got jealous of me. She thought I was stealing all the attention from our boss," Chloe explained.
Liam was silent for a moment before he spoke again, "Don't worry, Chloe. I'll take care of it. I know a guy who can help."
Chloe looked up at him with hopeful eyes, "Really? You would do that for me?"
"Of course, Chloe. You're my love." Liam said as he wiped her tears away.
Chloe smiled at him and felt grateful for having someone like him in her life. She knew that she could count on him.
